In this last part of the series, Brother Eli Soriano dives deeper into the reasons why people die and the lessons death teaches us.
According to Brother Eli, death is often feared by people because they believe it to be evil. However, this is not the case for those who follow God's word and know His truth. Death holds a different meaning for those who serve God. As stated in the book of Isaiah 57:1,
**"The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come." **
This passage emphasizes the importance of understanding the true nature of death and its significance for those who live righteous lives. Death means salvation or rests to those who served God during their lifetime.
The Bible showed us that even the most righteous men have died, including John the Baptist, Job, and Abraham. The Lord Jesus Christ, who lived a perfect life on earth, also died. The righteous perish or merciful men are taken away from the evil to come. This means salvation, according to the Bible. Sadly, many do not consider this truth and look at death as evil.
For the Christian, death is not an evil occurrence, but rather a way for God to spare us from the unbearable evil that is to come. It serves as a form of salvation, protecting us from impending evil.
Death is a teacher that imparts valuable lessons. It reminds us that we are under the mercy of God and that it is He who grants us life. Through death, we come to understand the existence of God, and this realization should not be taken lightly.
Many people question why we must die if there is a God. However, it is important to understand that the reason we die is because of God's existence. Through death, God demonstrates his immense power and reminds us of our mortality. It is a reminder that we must submit ourselves to his authority and recognize our limitations in the face of his greatness.
Deuteronomy 32:39 declares...
"See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand."
That is God, the one speaking, who has the power to give and take away life, wound and heal, and no one can escape from His grasp. God's word is powerful and challenging. It states that no one can be delivered from His hand, and His will shall be done in all situations. The fulfillment of His word will prove to people that He exists, and we must believe in Him. Whether we are wounded or healed, we must trust in God's plan.
Death is an inevitable part of life that teaches us valuable lessons. It reminds us to always be prepared for the unexpected, as we never know when our time will come. It also teaches us to strive for holiness and practice self-control. Most importantly, death teaches us to cherish and love those around us while we still have the chance, as time is a precious and limited resource.
It's important to love our children, families, and parents. If we wait until later in life, we may only have a little time left to do it. However, if we learn God's way, we can care more for our children and have peace knowing that we will die one day.
The mere idea of death prompts us to prepare. Believing in God reinforces this notion, as it reminds us that death is inevitable. Therefore, we must take action and prepare for it by doing what is necessary as soon as possible.
