the apostles are 12 because they represent the twelve tribes of Judah.
when the apostles need a replacement of judas Iscariot,they prayed to God only with what they needed,they dint tell story of how it happened or anything else but went straight to telling GOD what they needed.
Acts 1:24-26 (KJV) And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
we should make our request known with thanksgiving.
Philippians 4:6 (KJV) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
a prayer should not be story telling.
it should be done without repetitions.
if we believe that what we ask of from GOD,we will receive it
Mark 11:24 (KJV) Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
we should not pass our obligation of praying to Mary.
she is not GOD,she can't answer our prayers,she can't save us because she isn't GOD.
Mary is dead,she died in Christ and she will be raised up by CHRIST on the last day.
it is GOD'S will for us to pray and give thanks before we eat.
Matthew 15:36 (KJV) And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
1 Timothy 4:4 (KJV) For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
we should pray without ceasing, pray always.
but some people only pray during their birthday or when they are faced with issues in life.
remember that if the person praying is not righteous,he can't get answers from GOD.
1 Peter 3:12 (KJV) For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
