In response to the questions above;

According to the teaching, we were made to understand that;
Luk 24 vs 39-42; And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

He applied faith which became sufficient for his salvation because he has less hours to live. If hr has more days to live faith won't br enough.
2 pet 1 vs 5-9; And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

We have to do something than faith. After we've been purged out, let us add obedience to our faith and always do good work, then that will be enough.

1 cor 13 vs 1; Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

1 cor 13 vs 13; And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Faith without charity is nothing.
