This is the teaching of Bro. Eli Soriano of blessed memory and these words I share are the things I learnt from his teaching on the above-mentioned topic.

Don't be too angry or mad when someone has done something bad or wrong to you. Don't be offended. It might be hard or look humanly impossible because our human instincts would always want to get angry when someone wrongs us. "For every action, there is an equal or opposite reaction."

Matthew 6:14&15 (NIV)

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

As Christians, we have been called to forgive those who wronged us. When someone hurts us, it is an opportunity for us to forgive and show God's love to others.

It is to our advantage when we forgive because we are giving the Father the opportunity to also forgive us. The Bible tells us in Matthew 5:7 that "Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy."

If we show mercy and we give, God will also show us mercy and give to us. Nothing is by mistake so we need to understand why God allowed that person to hurt us because there is nothing that God doesn't know. Why did He then allow it? He allowed it because He wants us to learn how to forgive.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 (NIV)

Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins.

We are all sinners and this is what we need to always remember. If you know the virtue that is in forgiving then you won't find it hard to forgive another person. By learning how to forgive, you are also learning how to forgive yourself.
