Today's Lesson was really great and awesome, learnt alot from today's topic.
To contribute to the above topic,
Brother Eli taught us on how we are to confess our sin. And he said our sin should be confessed first to God and next to the person who we have sinned against. Jam 5:16 "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective". Remember love covereth a multitude of sin. So with love in our heart, we will be able to confess our sins.
Brother Eli stated that they are two kinds of sin which are:
a. Sin unto death: once we do consciously meaning intentional
b. Sin not unto death: once done unconsciously meaning not intentional. 1 John 5:16, KJV: "If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it."
After which he went on to talk about how to pray.
Prayer is the lifestyle of a Christian. A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian. And he stated that prayer is a doctrine and we must observe it according to the word of God. Exodus 3:5, KJV: "And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground." Daniel 6:10,kjv: “Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.”
He also stated that we are the temple of God, therefore we should try to keep ourselves holy. Heb 3:6,kjv: "But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end".
Prayer should always be part of a Christian.
I will close with picking a text from the Bible which says men ought to pray and not faint.
