Bitterness is sown by Satan, and it can cause the peace and happiness among a man and his wife and brethrens.
Proverbs 15:1
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
James 1:20
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
So we shouldn't allow the root of bitterness to grow in us, we should practice holiness and peace with one another.
Because only through this can we see the Lord.
You can see the Lord if all you do is cause troubles, bitterness in words, actions or however.
1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
The pride of life is being offered by the world.
That's pride, boastfulness or wisdom of the world.
Jeremiah 9:23
Thus saith the Lord , Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
We shouldn't be proud of what ever we have in life, because God is the source of everything we have in life.
According to Paul we should conform to the things of this world.
Romans 12:16
Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
We should change our mind from the things of this world, but we should be united in mind to help one and another.
Colossians 3:12
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Philippians 4:18
But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
