What an interesting question we have today..
In the real sense, we are supposed to all be God's Children but unfortunately it's not that way . All are God's creation but not all are God's Children.
The quest for being God's Children has so many prizes to pay and not all are ready to make those sacrifices.
There are lots of different criteria for becoming God's Children and I think one of the first criteria is found in Romans 10:10; For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
The bible had said in John 1:12
But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name–[Isa. 56:5.]

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:14

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Note this: you cannot be led by the spirit of God if you have not surrendered to him. There has to be a surrendering first. Abandoning your course for God's. That's doesn't sound cool right, yeah it doesn't sound cool be when you've tried it, you just won't want to quit because he will take care of you.
You must learn to live selfless life. Get souled out for God.

35 But love your enemies, do good to them,(A) and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children(B) of the Most High,(C) because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
To become children of God, there are prizes abs sacrifices to make.
