Why do people die? What lessons can we learn from death?
When people die, we are worried. We cry for those who are close to us when we lose them. We are not happy to lose anyone to death. That is one thing that gives us sorrow on earth. We should not be overwhelmed with sorrow when we lose someone. The Bible says that we should not be sorrowful for those who are gone as if we are hopeless. The people of the world can be hopeless because they do not have the hope of eternity. We should be encouraged that those we lost are not lost altogether if they have Christ Jesus in their lives.
Death does not mean something bad altogether. There is something good about death with the children of God. The children of the kingdom have hope in God. Our hope is that when we pass out of this world and lay aside this earthly tabernacle, we have a house in heaven which is not built by man.
2 Corinthians 5:1 (KJV) For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Isaiah 57:1 (KJV) The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
The other thing about death is that the righteous is delivered from evil that is coming so that he or she will not be overcomed. The Bible says so. It says that sometimes, the righteous is taken away so that God can save Him from the evil that is coming. So, it is not always that we should cry like hopeless people for our loved ones.
