Through the years I have grown many cacti. Some have multiplied but others did not have the same luck.
But most of my mother cacti keep getting stronger and some are no longer small cacti and became mothers themselves, this thanks to how easy they are to grow and propagate. However, some cacti are slower and take longer to become adults and mothers.
Many of my cacti have died because pests kill them. I look in many ways to get organic treatments for my plants, but sometimes nothing works and other times they work halfway. In many cases I lose my beloved cacti because the pests give me no truce or rest.
Today I want to show you some of my mother cactus plants and some of their children. For me it is a pride to make more and more of them.
With the isolation that we have this year I have not been able to get new cacti. Thankfully, some people have come to my house and exchange one cactus for another or they just gave me one.
This is my mother cacti Haworthia Limifolia:
who has been with me for many years. I have taken many of their children who have grown into adults themselves while others I have traded or sold.
The proliferation of this succulent affectionately known as “crocodile skin” is easy, even with a leaf you can get them to grow. I sowed this leaf a long time ago and strangely I saw that it only got wider, every time it got fatter and, looking inside a small opening in its base, I could see that inside it was growing a leaf. I opened the small opening for it and left it on its own and you can see that another plant grew.
This here is a mother mammillaria voburnensis:
Its reproduction has taken a while longer because it does not grow as fast as others. But as you can see it has abundant children, which I will gradually withdraw to get more cactus children. I have already withdrawn some who have already become mothers as well. Even this mammillaria bloomed for me for the first time. It gave me his flowers and now I wait for his next flowering.
These are some of his children. Others I have sold, there have already been several cactus children that have come out of this mother.
My mother Prolifera mammillaria:
Has had many flowers and many children. I can't help but take photos of your flowers every time you produce this flower crown because it’s simply beautiful to see.
But when I couldn’t see her for a few weeks, she got infected. It’s sad to see how a plague took hold of her. I removed it from its pot and cleaned it as best I could. Now she is alone in a pot. I think it will survive, but she was the one with the most flowers in my pictures.
Their children were left apart. I know that she will proliferate again and have many children around her like before.
The mother Mammillaria Vetula:
Has also had many children. But she disappeared with a plague and only her children remained, who are now also mothers. They also have bloomed.
Opuntias:
have had a hard time staying mothers. When they have grown, pests come to them that try to destroy them little by little. I try to save them but the small villi that they have do not allow me to eliminate the plague completely and the pests reproduce again until they can no longer be eliminated.
This is an opuntia that reproduces by cutting its branches. I have several cacti of this type.
The rebutias:
Are also very easy to reproduce. This mother Rebutia is beautiful with all her children around but she hasn’t bloomed yet. I hope that at some point she can give me her flowers.
These are some of his children. Some are mothers, since it proliferates very fast. It’s a cactus that reproduces very fast just like the prolific mammillaria.
The mother Aloe Juvenna:
Es beautiful. It grows very fast and proliferates with many children as well. Its common name is Aloe Tiger tooth.
These are some of the Juvenna's children who have also become mothers.
The monstrous cactus does not proliferate with children. It grows so many stems that can be cut and reproduced. This mother has several cacti and reproduces very easily.

Cactus y suculentas madres.
A través de muchos años he cultivado muchos cactus. Unos se han multiplicado otros no tuvieron igual suerte.
Pero la mayoría de mis cactus madres cada vez se fortalecen más. Algunas ya dejan de ser cactus pequeños y se convierten en otros cactus madres. Porque son fáciles de cultivar y de propagar. Otros cactus en cambio son más lentos para convertirse en adultos y madres.
Muchos de mis cactus han muerto porque las plagas los matan. Busco por muchos medios de conseguir tratamientos orgánicos para mis plantas. Pero a veces no funciona ninguno. Otras veces funcionan a medias. En muchos casos pierdo a mis amados cactus por que las plagas no me dan tregua ni descanso.
Hoy les quiero mostrar algunas de mis plantas cactus madres y algunos de sus hijos. Algunos convertidos en adultos. Para mi es un orgullo hacer cada vez más proliferación de los mismos.
Con este aislamiento que hemos tenido este año no he podido conseguir nuevos cactus. Alguno que otro ha venido hasta mi casa de forma muy especial. Alguien me ha cambiado un cactus por otro o simplemente me regalaron uno que otro.
Esta es mi Haworthia Limifolia madre.
Está conmigo desde hace muchos años. He tomado muchos de sus hijos los cuales se han convertido en adultos y otros los he intercambiado o vendido.
La proliferación de esta suculenta conocida cariñosamente como piel de cocodrilo es fácil. Incluso hasta con una hoja se puede conseguir que crezcan. Esta hoja la sembré hace mucho y extrañamente vi que solo se ensanchaba. Cada vez engordaba más y hurgando un poco en una pequeña abertura que tenía en su base, pude notar que adentro de ella crecía una hoja. Le abrí la pequeña abertura y la dejé por su cuenta y puede verse que creció otra planta.
Esta es una mammillaria Voburnensis madre:
Ha sido más tardía su replicación. No crece tan rápido como otras. Pero como pueden ver tiene abundantes hijos, los cuales iré retirando poco a poco para obtener más cactus hijos. He retirado algunos que ya se convirtieron en madres también. Incluso esta mammillaria me floreció por primera vez. Me dio sus flores y ahora espero por su próxima floración.
Estos son algunos de sus hijos. Otros los he vendido, ya han sido varios los cactus hijos que han salido de esta madre.
Mi mammillaria Prolífera madre:
ha tenido muchas flores incluso muchos hijos. No puedo evitar tomar fotos de sus flores cada vez que produce esta corona de flores. Por es sencillamente hermosa verla.
Pero mientras estuve unas semanas sin poder verla, ella se infectó. Es triste ver como se apoderó de ella una plaga. La retire de su maceta y limpié lo mejor que pude. Ahora está sola en una maceta. Creo que va a sobrevivir. Pero ella era la que más fotografías con flores tenía.
Sus hijos quedaron aparte. Sé que ella volverá a proliferar y a tener muchos hijos a su alrededor como antes.
La Mammillaria Vetula madre:
También ha tenido muchos hijos. Pero ella desapareció con una plaga. Solo quedaron sus hijos que ahora también son madres. También hizo su floración.
Estos son varios de sus hijos. Muchos los vendí. A las personas les agrada mucho la forma como se llena de hijos a su alrededor.
Las opuntias:
Han tenido muchas dificultades para permanecer como madres. Cuando están crecidas les llegan unas plagas que tratan de destruirlas poco a poco. Trato de salvarlas pero las pequeñas vellosidades que presentan no permiten que pueda eliminar la plaga por completo. Y se vuelven a reproducir las plagas hasta que ya no se pueden eliminar.
Este es un opuntia que se reproduce mediante la obtención de cortes en sus ramas. Tengo varios cactus de este tipo.
La rebutia madre:
También son muy fáciles para su reproducción. Esta Rebutia madre es hermosa con todos sus hijos alrededor. Aun no florece. Espero que en algún momento pueda darme sus flores.
Estos son algunos de sus hijos. Algunos son madres, ya que prolifera muy rápido. Es un cactus que se reproduce muy rápido como la mammillaria prolífera.
La Aloe Juvenna madre:
Es hermosa. Crece muy rápido y prolifera con muchos hijos también. Su nombre común es Aloe Diente de Tigre.
Estos son algunos de los hijos de la Aloe Juvenna que también se han vuelto madres.
El cactus monstruoso:
no prolifera con los hijos. Le salen tantos tallos que se pueden cortar y reproducir. Esta madre tiene varios cactus reproducidos muy fácilmente.
