Seaport Art walk
This post I am going to share some of the art work I have seen around the seaport here in New Bedford
Starting with this piece called Moby Dick

The Artist/sculpture for this piece is Donna Dodson and was installed in 2015
The sculpture is located along MacArthur Drive near the Cuttyhunk Ferry Pier and is on long term loan to the city from the artist.
The art in this post is part of an initiative called the Seaport Art Walk
New Bedford’s annual Seaport Art Walk was founded in 2013 by artist Jessica Bregoli, and was the city’s first large format outdoor public art installation. Each summer, sculpture and murals are strategically placed along New Bedford’s working waterfront and Seaport Cultural District.

Next up is a new piece on the Seaport Art walk, just recently installed by Eric Lintala, the same artist who did the Shackles Broken- Free at Last piece I showed in this post
it is a a fiberglass and metal sculpture to represent the injustices around the United States and the world.
Here is how he describes this piece Source
“We make speeches, we march for human rights, social injustice, environmental issues… and still the never-ending fight goes on,” Lintala wrote in a statement. “My sculpture symbolically represents all people and all concerns and hardships we bring to ourselves and to this planet and visually gestures ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!”

They all look great, even the last piece looks quite interesting the longer I look at it. I would have given them different names though ☺️

It’s pretty grew here as well but that’s could be because it’s 4am and the sun doesn’t ruse fir quite a while lol

I went to a boat Launch ina neighboring city, I thought it would be a good spot for a walk, but the beaches were all private beaches it seems but got a few shots and a not to bad sunrise so all is good

That's like around our lake. There are a few small spots which are free of fences and you can stay there for a break or go swimming, but these are always full of people. No camping is allowed, but there are camper vans all around, and litter. Somehow I miss the complete lockdown and closed borders where I had the whole lake for me alone 😉
