4 years ago I started the construction of the front of my house, since due to heavy rains in the past the facade of the house collapsed; When I started construction I had capital that I had managed to raise together with my ex-partner thanks to a fast food business that we had, but at that time the country was going through a very serious economic crisis and the capital I had was devalued in an instant by inflation.
Hace 4 años atrás di inicio a la construcción de el frente de mi casa, ya que debido a unas fuertes lluvias en el pasado se derrumbó la fachada de la casa; cuando comencé con la construcción tenía un capital que había logrado reunir junto a mi expareja gracias a un negocio que teníamos de comida rápida, pero en ese entonces el pais estaba pasando una crisis económica muy grave y el capital que tenía se devaluó en un instante por la inflación.
With the money I had, I advanced as much as I could in the construction, but I couldn't finish the facade; This last month I have been talking with my sister so that between the two of us we can pay the expenses little by little and thus finish building the house; She spoke with some relatives who have a hardware store to reach an agreement in which they will finance the construction materials and we will pay it in installments; the owners of the hardware store accepted the agreement and we got down to work.
Con el dinero que tenía avancé lo mas que pude en la construcción, pero la fachada no pude terminarla; este último mes he estado hablando con mi hermana para que entre los dos paguemos los gastos poco a poco y así ir terminando de construir la casa; ella hablo con unos familiares que tienen una ferretería para llegar a un acuerdo en el que nos financeen los materiales de construcción y nosotros lo vamos pagando en cuotas; los dueños de la ferretería aceptaron el acuerdo y ya nos pusimos manos a la obra.
I told my sister that I would do the construction, but that there are certain things that I did not know how to do and you have to hire someone to help me with that; So we did it, we hired a mason, between him and I we will do the front. The first thing that had to be done was a horizontal column which in masonry is known as a "crown beam".
Le comenté a mi hermana que yo haría la construcción, pero que hay ciertas cosas que no sabía hacer y hay que contratar a alguien que me ayude en eso; así lo hicimos contratamos a un señor albañil, entre el y yo haremos el frente. Lo primero que había que realizar era una columna horizontal a la que en la albañilería se le conoce como "viga de corona".
First we had to box the skeleton of the column with wood and then empty it with the mixture of cement, sand, stones and water; The whole process was a bit tedious since we did not have many woods and we had to perform miracles with the few old woods that I had, but the goal was achieved; In all this process we last a whole day, we started on a Thursday.
Primero teníamos que encajonar con madera el esqueleto de la columna para luego vaciarla con la mezcla de cemento, arena, piedras y agua; todo el proceso fue un poco tedioso ya que no contábamos con muchas maderas y tuvimos que hacer milagros con las pocas maderas viejas que yo tenía, pero se logro el objetivo; en todo ese proceso duramos un día entero, empezamos un jueves.
On Friday we started with the process that the masons call "splashing" and it is basically to make a very watery mixture of cement and sand, then throw it towards the wall so that when it dries, that is the base that will hold the frieze on the wall.
El viernes comenzamos con el proceso que los albañiles llaman "salpicar" y es básicamente hacer una mezcla muy aguada de cemento y arena, luego arrojarla hacia la pared para que cuando seque, esa sea la base que aguante el friso en la pared.
On Saturday I had already dried the splatter from the previous day, now it was time to "fry" the 3 outside walls, that day was quite exhausting, because I had to mix three times and mixing a cement mixture is an extremely exhausting job, but we managed to cover all the front that same day.
El sábado ya había secado el salpicado del día anterior, ahora tocaba "frizar" las 3 paredes de afuera, ese día fue bastante agotador, porque tuve que hacer tres veces mezcla y batir una mezcla de cemento es un trabajo sumamente agotador, pero logramos cubrir todo el frente ese mismo día.
Besides, there was a mixture left and in order not to waste it, the mason offered to use it on the inside wall of the house, although that was not part of the agreement when we hired him, but he was willing to do it without an extra payment. Thankful to the bricklayer because he did an excellent job.
Aparte quedó mezcla y para no desperdiciar, el señor albañil se ofreció a utilizarla en la pared de adentro de la casa, aunque eso no era parte del acuerdo cuando lo contratamos, pero él estuvo dispuesto hacerlo sin un pago extra. Agradecido con el albañil porque hizo un excelente trabajo.
On Sunday the wall was almost ready, the only thing missing was "mixing", the masons refer to this process when a mixture of dust (sifted, without any pebbles) and cement with lime is made, a quite sticky paste is made and with that the walls are covered to leave that smooth finish.
El domingo ya la pared estaba casi lista solo faltaba "mezclillar", los albañiles se refieren a este proceso cuando se hace una mezcla de polvillo (cernido, sin nada de piedritas) y cemento con cal, se hace una pasta bastante pegostosa y con eso se cubren las paredes para dejar ese acabado liso.
By Monday I was super exhausted, but the front floor still needs to be done.
Ya el lunes yo estaba super agotado, pero todavía faltaba hacer el piso del frente.
To finish that floor I had to make six cement mixes, that day I was at the limit, but I stayed motivated, because only that part was missing to have the front of my home finished, after so long I could not give up on the last day .
Para terminar ese piso tuve que hacer seis mezclas de cemento, ese día yo estaba al limite, pero me mantuve motivado, porque solo faltaba esa parte para tener el frente de mí hogar terminado, después de tanto tiempo no me podía rendir en el ultimo día.
At 5:00 pm on Monday, October 25, we managed to finish the front of the house, of course there are still many things to do, but the most important thing was achieved; grateful to my sister and to all the people involved who contributed to this goal being achieved, grateful to HIVE that allowed me to give my sister security to help her cover all the construction expenses; I feel immensely happy with how things have happened. What was promised is debt, I told him that in this community they would be the first to know about the progress in the construction of my home, good vibes 🖖🏼.
A las 5:00pm del lunes 25 de octubre logramos terminar el frente de la casa, claro todavía hacen falta muchas cosas por hacer, pero lo mas importante se logró; agradecido con mi hermana y con todas las personas involucradas que contribuyeron para que se lograra este objetivo, agradecido con HIVE que me permitió darle seguridad a mi hermana para ayudarla a cubrir con todos los gastos de la construcción; me siento inmensamente feliz por como han sucedido las cosas. Lo prometido es deuda, le dije que en esta comunidad serían los primeros en saber sobre los avances en la construcción de mi hogar, buenas vibras 🖖🏼.

De verdad si realizamos esa construcción muy rapido, para ser nosotros dos nada mas, pero lo que pasa es que yo tengo conocimientos basicos sobre albañilería y por eso avanzamos con rapidez, solo tardamos 5 días tiempo récord.
Por supuesto que estaré informando sobre los proximos avances en la construcción.
