Near the Tenerife South Airport you'll find this abandoned, giant Satellite Dish, which seems like straight out of a SciFi movie.

When I visited I got the entire place to myself - well, right at my arrival there was a girl doing TikToks but finished up the moment I got out of the car (maybe she felt embarrassed, sorry I didn't mean to rush you away!).

They used this dish as port of a solar plant and it seem like the entire inside of it was covered with thick glass - since there were these huge chunks of it laying under it, I hold a glass piece up in the video!

This is part of a huge Tenerife URBEX series, once these articles are online you'll find them on our Tenerife Travel Blog.

This video was recorded with this camera.

Impressive and as you say, worthy of a science fiction movie. In fact, it reminds me that I possibly detected that extraordinary unidentified flying object, which was sighted in the waters of the Canary Islands in 1979, a time when not only sightings began to become noticeable on these islands, but also the figure of contactees who reached some relevance worldwide, such as Francisco (Paco) Padrón, while in Peru Sixto Paz Wells and his Mission Rama began to become fashionable. Leaving aside this world of hypothetical extraterrestrial contacts, it is sad to see in what state these facilities have been, undoubtedly outdated by new technologies, where it impresses (and it is certainly a great success on your part to capture this technological ruin on video while the planes take off endlessly flying over it) the diameter of this object, which belongs to a generation that was beginning to look with curiosity towards the interstellar heights looking for proof that we are not alone in the universe. Very interesting post. An affectionate greeting.
