A few years ago my family visited a place in southern Thailand called Phuket. Phuket is a popular tourist area for people visiting from around the world. The Phuket area is known for it's beaches , food, water activities and nightlife. For us, a family vacation consisted mostly of a few activities on the beach/water and just enjoying the time with my family.
Phuket has a number of tours and rental equipments that people can use for boating. We were just glad to be on the beach or in the water making the tropical heat more bearable. It can get really warm in Southern Thailand, a hint for all you travelers.
The beaches are wide, white and soft which is perfect for tourism. You can walk for miles on the coast and take in the sites and sounds.
I enjoyed the times when we would rent a small boat and go to one of the local islands. The trips were truly relaxing. It's something I would recommend to others, get out and enjoy the water.
I enjoyed the free time to learn a little more about simple camera skills. Back then I really did not know much about photography. Needless to say, if you are big into photography, Phuket is great place to get some scenic landscapes. I am sure the video bloggers would have plenty of fun in Phuket.
The water in Phuket is clear as can be. Do you see the quality of the snorkeling photo? The water is perfect for underwater photography or just swimming under water. The contrast of colors of the sky, water and the various small mountains coming from the waters is unlike any other area.

The beach offers a tremendous variety of boats. From the super fancy drinking excursion boat trips to your common row boat :-) The party boats are always packed with tourists having a great time.
I look back on this trip with great fondness. It was a time when the whole family was together and we were able to enjoy a vacation away from our land locked village in Central Thailand. It was a time where my Mother was still with us and I will always remember how special it was. This is what makes Phuket special for me.
