Hi, guys,
today I present two beaches which I visited together with my sister during my time in Rostock and which are located close to the Warnemünde beach. The beach in Warnemünde is very big and wide and in addition fine sandy. It is probably the best known beach in the area and therefore most "popular" with tourists.
The first beach I would like to introduce to you is the beach Diedrichshagen. The beach of Diedrichshagen is located west of Warnemünde Beach. What makes it special: Not only are there fewer tourists here and the beach is more frequented by locals. It is also characterized by coastal forest and steep coast in the nature reserve Stoltera. The sand is fine grained and interspersed with stones. The unguarded beach section is designated as nudist beach. Dogs and horses can also enjoy the beach at certain sections and at certain times. Even though unguarded beaches may not be ideal for families with children and there are many pebbles to be found here, the beach looks relatively natural and rustic - we really enjoyed it!
The beach is free of charge and there are many parking lots nearby. The best way to get to the beach from Bad Doberan is to take the L12 road towards Warnemünde, from Warnemünde towards Bad Doberan. There are no beach chairs, but on certain beach sections you can make a barbecue and fire, let your dog run free, do water sports or ride a horse. Thus, the beach is rather for active people. If you just want to lie in the sun and maybe swim a little, I recommend the Warnemünde beach ;)
The other beach is called Markgrafenheide. The beach of Markgrafenheide is the longest beach section of the Rostock seaside resorts. It extends over 5 km from Markgrafenheide to the natural beach Rosenort in the Rostocker Heide. The sand is fine grained, white and interspersed with few stones. The shore area with its predominantly shallow water offers ideal conditions for families and children. Compared to beach Diedrichshagen, this aslo is more family-friendly, less natural and less rustic. The beach is located in an easterly direction from the entrance to Markgrafenheide to Rosenort in the Rostocker Heide. Here there are fewer stones and in the shore area there is fine sand and mainly shallow water. Also this beach can be used free of charge. A plus: Here you can get beach chairs and lifeguards.
A small tip: right next to the beautiful natural beach there is a climbing forest right behind the dunes.
I hope you enjoyed the view of these two beaches near Warnemünde! Both are less frequented compared to the Warnemünde beach (which I find very pleasant). But the beach Markgrafenheide is very similar to the famous Warenmünder Strand. I personally liked the beach Diedrichshagen better. Firstly because it is a good change, but also because there is a coastal forest and you can feel the nature better ;)
Hi greetings...now from kiel...better from Stein ...a small town on the sea..2 km from Laboe...it is Not the best Swimming weather...but for me and my kids was it a good icecold Feeling 😁🥶
