First, let me apologize...

I had originally planned on doing a post per day to document our two-year anniversary trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but unfortunately, life came in. I caught a pretty bad cold, and have been under the weather, then my wife's accountant decided to break our contract, and I have been dealing with that as well, so please, forgive me. Today, I will be sharing photos from the Upper Tahquamenon Falls of Michigan. Most of these photos will be self-explanatory, so again, I will only comment here and there...

The Welcome Center

Here you can see the Welcome Center for the State Park. It is set up like a mini-fair almost. They have vendors and food trucks to choose from, and since we had not eaten yet...

Pretty busy...

The day we were there, there were quite a few people visiting. It was nice to be able to talk to people and see them enjoying life. I can't tell you how nice it was...

Walking the trail...

The trail from the Welcome Center to the falls is about a mile and a half, but the entire walk is really nice and through the woods. It was hot, but the trail was nice and cool. Soon, we heard the falls...

The other Obersavation Platform downriver...

Here you can see the other Observation Platform further down the river. Again, we decided not to go down there, or to the Lower Tahquamenon Falls, as we were wanting to get back on the road. After leaving here, we went to the Crisp Point lighthouse, and I will be sharing that in the next post!

Thank you for reading!

Sort:

That place looks great, I never would have thought Michigan could sport such natural beauty, I only really think of places like Detroit when the name Michigan comes up (non US person).

Yeah, the cities in Michigan control the votes in a way, but mostly, the state is rural like this.
