Bala Hanuman Temple, Jamnagar is listed on Guinness Book of World Records,for its continuous chanting of the “Sri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram” since August 1st, 1964.

Continuing my travel journey since last post, we visited the Bala Hanuman Temple at Jamnagar in the early evening. A small temple, open for everyone, without any restrictions - and listed on Guinness Book of World Records,for its continuous chanting of the “Sri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram” since August 1st, 1964. Isn't that an icon of devotion ?

How amazing it is - just imagine, a temple, where you can take your camera or phones without any restriction. Nobody restricts you anything - which is typically what happens in every big temple in India. And the above is the place where the enchanting happens. The enchanting is continuously done by people - not anything automated or using any recorded voice. That means, 24/7, there are some people there enchanting “Sri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram” since last 56 years. Salute to the people's spirit and devotion. I felt, like every temple in India should be like this. If someone wants to visit the god's place, they should be free to go any time, without any restrictions. People should be free to take photographs. They should be free to just visit the God, even without any offerings. Even live broadcast of the inside of the temple should be done, so that those elderly people who cannot visit , can have a glimpse of their God. In fact its the need of the hour in these times of Lock down. Unfortunately, we have too many restrictions at other famous temples.

Early Evening is a very good time to visit the temple, as it looks beautiful with the lights and animation. You can see, some families offering puja near a tree and then they tie a thread with some promises - a typical practice done at many places in India. Once the wish is fulfilled, they go there and untie one thread - as you will not find yours 😀.

Just near the entry, there is a small icon of Lord Shiva, with color changing effects. Here are the seven colors, that was getting changed.

I felt blessed spending some time at such a temple, where devotion is the only measure of seeing the God, which I truly like ( be it any religion). It's told, if we call the almighty with true heart , he will listen. And what a perfect example of that, this temple is.
