Graffiti found in the middle of nature

Let me ask you something right at the beginning of this post. If you see graffiti somewhere on the street, do you stop and try to read the words that are made up of those cool letters? Sometimes it is difficult to read those fonts but in the end, we can figure out what the artist wanted to say.
If your answer to my question is positive, then I think you can continue with reading. But it is fine also if you don't really fancy graffiti and you think that carrying on with this post would not be something you would like to do right now. However, I might tell you that there will be a small game if you make it to the end. Hmm, not really a game but another question :D {lol, why so many questions, Mi?}

What is not a question is the place I found these drawings. In a tunnel and on the walls of a ruin.
The location of these two objects is shown in this post. Surrounded by woods, mountains and a lake, a dam that had to be crossed and two tunnels. (My apologies to the admin of this community as this is not street art, but found in nature). We walked there last Sunday (the whole hiking story can be found under the link I left) and we made it until one ruin. There we turned back, but before that, I climbed the small hill from the main path to see the ruins from close.

DSC_5843.JPG

I spotted the exterior "decoration" already from the distance, but I didn't know I will find some drawings inside the ruins too. But they were not nice ones, those were just low-effort scribbles.

DSC_5845.JPG

The interior of the ruins was full of collapsed roof tiles, bricks and weeds. There were three small windows and the entrance. I suppose it was just a small shed or a tiny house for weekends, as it was too small to be labelled as a house. But who knows, maybe it was someone's home back in time, but I can't imagine a big family living here.

DSC_5846.JPG

Anyway, now it is just a ruin. It doesn't matter anymore if it was a home for someone or just a shed, but the exterior walls served for some people as a canvas for graffiti. Not far away from it, I saw another kind of ruin. I can't really say what it would be... the basement for some house that was never built? A reservoir for water? Maybe a playground for MONSTERS? 😂

DSC_5853.JPG

The ruins were left behind with these questions in my mind and we arrived at the tunnel (that was forbidden to pass through 😁). We did it anyway, our car was on the other side, and I had no intention to sleep in nature without a tent or torch.

DSC_5863.JPG

Several graffiti on the walls. Just simple words. For example Petar. It can be a male name of Greek origin, which we know means rock or stone.

DSC_5865.JPG

The next one was Suki. I liked this font and the contrast between the blue and orange fire thing around the word.

DSC_5866.JPG

Quite a simple font and word. Sur. It means south (if we translate it from Spanish) but it might be also someone's name or just an abbreviation. But I moved on and saw the last one.

DSC_5867.JPG

The last one stayed an enigma for me. I can recognize some letters here, but I can't figure out what the whole word is. We arrived at my second question for those who wanted to participate :)

DSC_5864.JPG

Can you read this word? Can you see what is written here? I can't decipher it...

Feel free to drop your guess in the comment section :)

To be honest I have not seen graffiti in past 5-10 Years in my place or wherever I visited.... The walls are full of advertisements and that too full Trash.

I'm Loving everyday I see Graffiti in Hive.... It's an Art and I really respect and honor such Artist or Creativity.

The Graffiti You Spot are literally so Good and what I like most about em is FONT that make you confused and fill curiosity to crack it.

I think that second Last is "SUR" while I can't figure out last one even after starring it for 5 minutes.

Yes, the font is what gives the challenge to find out what is the word actually. Many times it is easy but as we see, the one in the last photo is not that obvious...

It's Fun! Well, let's see who can find out what's the last one.

Wow! I don't think I can write out those words out. It's so difficult. Perhaps I wouldn't be able to see it clearly except I move closer physically and try picking the words each. I can't even decipher it.

Those who are drawing the graffiti already practised a bit :D So I suppose when you are creative and spent some time on this, it is not anymore that difficult ;)
About deciphering the last word... seems it stays a mystery still :D

 last year (edited)

Graffiti, yes I often see them before in our hometown as some teenagers are fond of doing this in the walls of any establishment (vandalism)

They became a problem of some as this results from them to have some repainting 😂.

Those font style used in aboved graffiti's..I remembered using that in writing titles to my school projects.. those times owing a computer and printed documents are only for the rich.

I couldn't read the word too 😂

It sounds very nice that you used those fonts for your school projects. Much more creative and better than the printed documents ;)

Haha, at the moment nobody can read it. But thanks for trying :))

What a curious lady, stuck between ruins and debris 😄, we are alike in something, they tell us not to pass and we still do it 🤦🏽

I like those graffiti, I'm one of those who stop to look and try to decipher, I almost always leave without an answer and angry for wasting my time 😂.

Of all the ones you showed I liked the one that says south the most, because of the color combination.

And to answer this riddle I say the mystery word is: fanfare sound please, because I'm going to win even if there is no prize 😁😜🤣 the word is:

Dbfab

I don't know what it means but that's the one. 😁

Thanks for the fun. @mipiano

Hahahah, your comment is so funny 😂
Lol, I don't know if I hear the music that should accompany the winner announcement, as I don't know what the answer is 😂
But, yes, those letters indeed look like b

Maybe I had to set a team of judges to decide what the winning word is :D

Thank you so much for the guess, well, for the possible answer 😇

I love grafitti! Funny how I’ve never actually seen any in real life though. I’ve seen them many times in movies and I watch so many TikToks of people creating them on street walls. Absolutely beautiful! I’d definitely stop for a peek any time if I saw any on the street:)

I liked that whoever did the grafitti there saw potential in what most people would consider a ruin, and created life and beauty from it.

I really enjoyed reading this, but the grafitti even more. Now I see that brrakimg the rules and crossing the tunnel was actually worth it:)

There is no graffiti at your place? The walls then must be all clear, or just no graffiti artists around? Or it is maybe not popular?

There are murals and graffiti that are very nice, but also those that are ugly and without any sense. I would call that vandalism. The nice ones - I do like them. Also, the place for graffiti... seeing it on a building of historic value would be bad. I believe that good graffiti artists try to leave a message, and respect the place (or building) where they will make it.

haha, I am not sure when they did it, if during the night, then they would need some torches. There are no lights from city, it is in the middle of nature 😂

Loo those are a lot of opening questions and I’ll answer them all with a yes. The part of Ghana I come from(Northern Ghana) graffiti is not popular here so there’s no graffiti here and no graffiti artists.

There’s graffiti in the south though. They’re a bit more “advanced” and more “fun”. I haven’t been to the south many times though. I think I’ve only been there once when I was 10 and never again. And the last time I was there, I was too young to know what graffiti is or be concerned about them lol.

That just makes it super interesting lol. Those must’ve been adventurous graffiti artists. Determined to create their art no matter what.😂

Those must’ve been adventurous graffiti artists

I am sure they were not scared of sssssssssnakes nor ssssssssssscorpions :D

Even ssssssnakes and ssssscorpions wouldn’t dare hurt graffiti artists.😌

Cool to see some nice lettering around, most are just ugly tags. But these ones aren’t like that. I like the monsters one.
The last word… hhhmmm d.fa. Not sure about the other 2 hahaha maybe a b.
Night night 👋🏻😴😴😴

I like the Monsters too, I think that is my favourite. And the Suki one from the tunnel, I like the font and the combination of the colours.

These graffiti have nothing to do with all those beautiful murals you have seen in Paris. But this is not Paris haha, just a place, somewhere in the mountain :P
Oh, yeah, these are maybe b , as @soyunasantacruz also suggested, maybe Dbfab 🙂

But we don't know the meaning of that. Maybe it is better to stay an enigma :))

Night night to you too 😴

They were all cool to see 😉
Hahaha I understand, but believe Paris had a lot of these kind of lettering too. I just haven’t shared yet… hahaha want to share the pretty ones first. 😎

Maybe better the remain a mystery. It could be a brand or a local thing the artist is from.

Oh I’m so behind today… didn’t even manage to be on hive in the evening /last night like normal. I collapsed, for me early hahaha and was snoring my little head of at midnight hahaha 🤣
So much to do these days. And coming weeks. And the 2 days of holidays don’t help either this week hehehe 🤭
Trying to sort out paperwork and get cita’s hahaha that’s a day job in it’s own. Had to go to 3 policia nationals to get something sorted. But all done… cancelled the residencies officially today.
It is getting all so real now.

I think I won’t manage to post more than 4 posts a week… maybe 3 if I’m lucky for the next 3 weeks. 🤞🏻
But I do my best to check in here every day. 😎😁

Hope you new week started great. Have a wonderful Monday @mipiano 👋🏻☀️

I'm s fan of street art, I like seeing murals and graffiti on the street..
Hard to red the last one, but I guess the lady four words are _ bpab.. May dbpab? 😅

I like murals too, more than graffiti. The last word could be Dbfab, as the other girls above suggested. Or as you say Dbpab
Thanks for trying to help me with this deciphering 😇

Other graffitis are also hard to read haha.

I wanna try, reading, that graffiti, lol, maybe it's degas
well that's what I read. I check at google if there such words and appears degas is a French Impressionist ..

Would be cool if that artist could time-travelling and come to our time. Maybe he would paint some beautiful murals around 😇

Wow, you really had a pretty tour and those gravities are perfectly inscribed but to be honest, it's been so long I saw this kind of things. You really did well to share with us bye.

I liked the walk there, the lake was nice and the surrounding. We also found the ruin, and graffiti in the tunnel at the end of our walk. It was a nice day :)

I don't know much about graffiti, but i've always been curious if these artists always have their spray cans with them when they walk around. Because, they sure must need several cans for those big murals. The other thing, i guess many will draw and paint at night to avoid problems with the authorities, it must be a bit scary to be in a very remote place immersed in the forest to make a graffiti 👻

They must be brave or crazy hahha. You know, it is complete darkness there when the sun sets down. I think the street artists bring the sprays when they already find a good place. I don't think they would carry the spray cans always with them, as you are right, probably one is not enough. And also they use different colours, so must be an organized thing.

I find graffiti to be very fascinating.
There’s a lot of it on the roads leading to town. I always wonder which time of the day this magic is made because I don’t seem to sight people making them.

You just wake up one morning and they’re there.
Maybe they were made by ghosts.
I actually love seeing them.

Maybe they are just fast and draw them quickly?
Or indeed, evening (or early morning?) so nobody is around to watch them or interrupt
Hahaha, ghosts 😂

Then I guess I’ll have to start walking along the streets at night and early mornings.

Manually curated by brumest from the @qurator Team. Keep up the good work!

Thank you 🙌😇

Who would have thought some beautiful art can be in the midst of ruins... Rather than having bills and posters for all sorts littering our walls in my country, it would really be beautiful to see something like this beautifying the already dying streets.
Most art here is found hidden in museums or art galleries which very few people ever visit. Perhaps the majority don't really appreciate art here.

Then it is a different kind of street art in your country. Posters can be fun too if they are nice. I prefer nice, artistic murals over graffiti, but that's what I found on the ruins. 😇

I won't call our bills and posters art though😅
If they're not political campaign posters, they'll be some advert.
And when they come off from wear they disfigure the walls so badly.

It's okay to take advantage of the ruins to make a hand-made creation, but in my village there is no this kind of thing😅
And yes, I'll read it if I look at the artist's writing, sometimes it's a little confusing

A bit confusing, yes. But maybe that is the goal of the artist, not to write something in an easy way, even if later others can't read it 😂

It could be, and that's where the real art lies😄

Oh I remember something about this kind of art and I found it also in ruined houses before. Actually the was house burnt by fire.
Understanding those letter is a little bit of challenge due to the fonts but if you did some lettering or slogans before for sure you can understand them.
Every graffiti has a story to tell, that's for sure.

I also think that graffiti has a story, or at least the artist who made it can relate it to something. For now, this one from my post stays an enigma of what it means :D

For sure it has because when you do an art..you need to put your heart into it.😊

I'm guessing those are the graffiti artists' tags / names?

I like the last one best and my son and I are sitting here trying to figure it out.

He reckons it's more of a graphic statement than letters and a commentary on war (the pieces look like cut up bits of a hand and head and you can see the blood splatters)

He also said maybe it's another alphabet / different language. Valid point.

Whoever did it clearly has some skills!

Hmm, could be true, their nicknames.
Your son has some interesting points and views, that's great he can see beyond just the obvious and try to find a deeper meaning. Though I somehow see the red and orange colours behind the letters as fire :)

After seeing/visiting this ruin and the tunnel with graffiti, now I am seeing more and more graffiti everywhere hahaha.

He is my special human and his mind works very laterally, yes. I'll let him know your thoughts and thanks for sharing them

And perhaps he's been playing too much Fortnite! ;) It's been a big week for the game so we've been on it a lot :) 🌺

I like the fire perspective and will share it with him! He wants to join Hive now so we'll get to signing him up shortly.

That's good art, looking at that graffiti, a little bit of a shortcut in my mind, what would it be like if the graffiti did merge with my decoration 😁😅😇

Hahaha, that would be a strange mixture, right? :D

😅, That's a silly idea I thought of, the theme would later become graffiti decoration🤭

As I really like tipography and calligraphy, always cool to see letterings in the street and try to decipher them. Abandonned buildings are perfect canvas for Street Artist. Cool works especially the last one even if I can't recognize the letters 😀

Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Yes, I agree, ruins and abandoned buildings are perfect for street artists. Interestingly, I see now every day some ruins and graffiti on them 😂
Probably they were here for a while, but I just started to notice them.

Haha, can't read this final graffiti as well dear. I tried searching but found that this has other similar drawings probably for a group.

Yes, I too when I see graffiti's the curious kitty side of me always rose up and try to investigate what's written.
Happy that you had a great weekend experience.

Thanks for being curious about this one too :) Maybe it is a nickname of the artist, or of the group... nobody knows :D
