Hello to everyone in this community and street art lovers! I'm so happy because I finally had the opportunity to dedicate myself to searching for murals and graffiti during my stay in the city of Barquisimeto, Venezuela. Being a city in the plains, the spaces in the city that have been transformed by artists are quite scarce, unlike in the capital, where even urban art is displayed in exhibition halls. But this only makes each encounter with a new mural or graffiti in this city feel like finding a hidden treasure, especially if it's one that's been on the walls for quite some time, as is the case with the first one I'll show you, which is already peeling. It's located in the eastern part of the city and gets direct sunlight, so its fading isn't surprising. The astronauts are holding a flag that says "Spaceland Astronauts"... I wonder where the concept came from.
In that same area, I also came across some graffiti. Some was more recent, and some was more faded. It's possible they weren't done that long ago, since the city is quite hot and at certain times of the year, the sun's rays are more intense, which could dull the paint more quickly. Even so, it's good to document these colorful letters before they disappear. As always, I like it when they use green (my favorite color) or when they add a small drawing or figure alongside the letters.
On the other hand, while visiting a friend in the West Zone, I noticed a very funny drawing on a large wall at the bus stop. I don't know who it is, but I had to take a picture. There are several interesting murals in the West Zone that I've only been able to see while the bus is moving, and the same is true in the North Zone... so I hope to be able to see them in the future.
And finally, on another outing I stumbled upon a graffiti artist in the middle of his work 😂 I usually avoid deserted streets, but when I venture down them, I sometimes come across a mural or two, so I'm glad I took a shortcut that time... And that's all for my discoveries. I hope I'm lucky enough to find more murals and graffiti during the rest of my visit 😌

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes del arte callejero! Estoy muy feliz porque finalmente pude encontrar la oportunidad de dedicarme a la búsqueda de murales y grafitis durante mi estadía en la ciudad de Barquisimeto (Venezuela). Al ser una ciudad llanera, los espacios en la ciudad que han sido intervenidos por artistas, podrían decirse que son bastante escasos, a diferencia de la capital, dónde inclusive el arte urbano se muestra en salas de exposición. Pero, esto sólo hace que cada encuentro con un mural o grafiti nuevo en esta ciudad, sea como encontrar un tesoro escondido y más si se trata de alguno que lleva bastante tiempo plasmado en las paredes, como es el caso del primero que mostraré, que ya se está desconchando. El mismo se encuentra en la zona Este de la ciudad y le pega el sol directo, por lo que no me extraña su decoloración. Los astronautas tienen una bandera que pone "Spaceland Astronauts"... me pregunto de dónde vendrá el concepto.
Por esa misma zona, me encontré también con algunos grafitis. Algunos más recientes y otros más desgastados. Aunque puede ser que no lleven tanto tiempo de haberse realizado, pues la ciudad es bastante calurosa y en algunas temporadas, los rayos del sol se sienten con mayor intensidad, lo que podría opacar más rápido la pintura. Aún así, es bueno hacer un registro de estas letras tan pintorescas antes de que desaparezcan. Como siempre, me gusta cuando utilizan el color verde (mi favorito) o cuando añaden algún dibujo pequeño o figura, junto a las letras.
Por otro lado, mientras me encontraba visitando a una amiga en la zona Oeste, en la parada del transporte me fijé con un dibujo muy gracioso en la extensa pared. No sé qué personaje sea, pero tenía que fotografiarlo. En la zona Oeste hay varios murales interesantes que sólo he podido divisar mientras el transporte va en marcha, lo mismo ocurre en la zona Norte... por lo que espero poder tener acceso a ellos en un futuro.
Y para finalizar, en otra salida me hallé con un dibujo de un grafitero en plena faena 😂 Normalmente suelo evitar las calles solitarias, pero cuando me aventuro a pasar por las mismas, en ocasiones me encuentro con con uno que otro mural, así que me alegro de haber tomado un atajo en esa ocasión... Y hasta aquí mis hallazgos. Espero tener suerte y encontrar más murales y grafitis en lo que me resta de visita 😌
