After a failed attempt to use firecrackers and UV light against volatiles, I was killed and sent back to the home base. I waited out the night with Olivia before heading out at dawn. I used parkour to reach the town hall area, only to find the complex completely overrun by infected.

I couldn't just wait on the tower when there were enemies walking below me, so I tried to shoot them with arrows from my high vantage point. However, the arrows didn't do anything big to stop their movement.

So I tried confusing them by throwing firecrackers down to see if I could distract them from my position. I watched from above as the small explosions went off, but it only seemed to draw more of them toward the base of my tower. It was a risky game to play while surrounded by so many hungry monsters.

I decided to see what would happen if I put a UV light on them to see their reaction. I jumped down from the safety of the tower and used the light on one of the volatiles around me. It kind of confused the creature for a moment, but then it recovered quickly, jumped on me, and killed me instantly.

At the next restart, I found myself back at the same town and I didn't want to go back to my tower this time. I decided to take a risk and ran towards the town hall real fast while staying in the shadows.

When I was navigating through the big buildings, a chase started suddenly as a volatile found me in the dark. I tried very hard to get away, but it was too fast. The monster jumped on me and took me down again before I could reach the safety of a higher rooftop.

This time, I was sent back to the home base, which really calmed me down after all the stress of the chase. I knew the volatiles would not attack me here within the protected walls of the sanctuary. I took a deep breath and looked around where I found Olivia as well.

There was this couch, and I realized I could wait until morning to continue my journey. The game told me I could sleep the night over while the sun was down.

That morning, I decided to go out as no volatiles should be around during the daylight hours. The sun felt warm on my face as I stepped out into the open air again. I felt much more confident now that I could see the path clearly without having to worry about the super-predators of the night.

When coming out of the monastery, I decided to ignore all those regular infected on my way to save time. I stopped for a moment to check around the area and I noticed the town hall was not actually that far from me.

I went out and tried some good parkour to get to the town hall fast. I kept ignoring all those infected on my way. The movement felt fluid and fast as I mastered the environment to reach my goal.

I finally reached the town area, but it looked like the town hall was not so close at all. It seemed like a very large and complex area to find the exact place I needed.

The whole town was filled with hundreds of infected, making it a very difficult challenge to navigate through them.
I'll show what happens next later.
I personally took all the screenshots from my play and I used a logo of the game from online to use in the thumbnail.
This is Pikachuuuuu signing off. Over and out.

It is a brutal lesson to learn that the UV light only buys you a second or two before a Volatile recovers, but you had to pay hard time to learn this lesson. Sleeping at the base was definitely the right choice to reset your momentum.
Yeah. Lesson learned properly.
This part was full of tension and danger. Nighttime with volatiles sounded scary, and your escape to morning felt great. That made the story feel real and exciting to read.
Thanks.
Seeing Olivia and that couch at the home base must have been the best sight in the world after all those chasing and dying. The morning captures are great.
Absolutely.
The parkour part was my favorite scene. Running fast through danger to reach the town looked awesome. Good game.
I'm also enjoying how my character moves through these terrains.
