Brief description of the daily life in the personal quarantine.

Day 413 of the quarantine in Venezuela due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, is World Press Freedom Day, which was established by the UN in 1993.
It is a calm day and this week we are in a radical quarantine, which would mean in more normal conditions that people cannot be mobilized on the street without having a good reason, but since this is Venezuela, it implies that the police checkpoints are going to give a 'bite' to all those who catch, that is, they will extort money from all the people they can catch and take money to let them circulate, regardless of the risk of contagion or the spread of the pandemic. This is not only the case in this country, throughout the South American region it is too common for police forces to behave like criminal bodies in uniform, there are good people in the police force, but we have so many cases of people who are a 'plague' that already Here it has become a common joke to joke that it is possible that if you are robbed or kidnapped and then you go to report it, you may find the same criminal who attacked you at the police station, but wearing a uniform.

Día 413 de la cuarentena en Venezuela por la Pandemia de Covid-19, es el Día Mundial de la Libertad de Prensa, que fue establecida por la ONU en 1993.
Es un día calmado y esta semana estamos en una cuarentena radical, lo que significaría en condiciones mas normales que no se puede estar movilizando gente en la calle sin tener una buena razón, pero como esto es Venezuela, implica que las alcabalas policiales van a dar una 'mordida' a todos los que agarren, es decir, van a extorsionar a todas las personas que puedan atrapar y les sacaran dinero para dejarlos circular, sin importarles el riesgo de contagio o de la propagación de la pandemia. Esto no solo es así en este país, en toda la región sudamericana es demasiado frecuente que los cuerpos policiales se comporten como cuerpos delictivos con uniforme, hay gente buena en la policía, pero tenemos tantos casos de gente que es una 'peste' que ya acá se ha vuelto un chiste de costumbre bromear que es posible que si te roban o te secuestran y vas luego a denunciar, puede que encuentres al mismo criminal que te atacó en la estación de policía, pero vistiendo uniforme.
En este ambiente, la libertad de prensa es una cosa peligrosa, por eso en las manifestaciones, los periodistas son un blanco de ataque prioritario por parte de las fuerzas militares y policiales, es lamentable, pero ha sido así por años... por décadas mas bien.
En todo caso, mis felicitaciones a todas las personas que trabajan en favor de una prensa libre y plural, aun cuando la agenda de interese de cada medio de comunicación y de cada grupo de poder económico y político hacen que eso sea prácticamente una fantasía.
Pasando a cosas personales, estoy bien en lo que se puede y no voy a profundizar mucho, seguimos vivos y eso ya es suficientemente bueno con el mundo loco en que estamos. Se me acabó la novela que traducía y me avisaron que la que quería comenzar ya está traducida al español, así que no creo que tome otra en breve tiempo, puede que busque una que sea breve y entretenida para no dejar que se me oxide la habilidad para traducir estas cosas.
En fin, no es mucho lo que tengo que reportar, espero que estés bien y todos tus asuntos prosperen.
