I also was able to meet a lot of cats in the temples, they're usually sleeping and won't come to me hahah so can't pet them :<
I love coffees from 7/11!! I drank a lot of them and they were really good. Not sure you can bring those inside temples? Anyway temples right now have so much tourists. OMG when we went to Wat Arun it has tourists literally everywhere wearing some Thai costumes they rented from outside and just loitering in one place trying to get the perfect pic and shot for Tiktok. T_T
A lot, and cats there don't want to contact people because are tired of people, and you often must pay annoying entrance fees.
You should visit a regular temple "next to your hotel" in search of cats - most Bangkok wats have felines including charming Siamese and Burmese breeds and mixes between them. No entrance fees in regular wats, and cats are more interested in humans there.
The cat cafe you visited has breeds you will never find in Thai temples or streets, so some Thai cat lovers would pay just to see and pet them.
Hahahaha it reminds me of this time where there was a shrine at a bar and there were food offering for the gods/spirits(?). Well you can guess who ate them, just the cats. XD I guess they are the gods. :D
There were a few we passed in Chinatown but not really close to our hotel. Yeah in Wat Pho I saw cats there and they were Siamese cats too. Even in the streets I saw one and I wondered if nobody steals them to sell them just cos of their cute color cos here in the Philippines that would definitely happen. I guess they're a common breed here. If those cats in the cat cafe were short-haired street cats I would still pay to be there. I try to pet every cat I meet in the streets but they just don't come to me most of the time ahhaha
