Sourbit Berliner weisse. This is the beer. And it came home as a present from my sister in law. I love when she comes to visit us and brings me presents all the time. And these presents I love! She always comes home with a craft beer and always chooses something different.
She knows that I love IPAs and sour beers so she always chooses a very decent beers that are perfect for my tastes. The Sourbit Berliner weisse is brewed in a brewery that is located in Latvia as I know and recently I have some beers from them. They gain popularity quite fast here in Bulgaria. And their beers are quite interesting and different from the other mainstream beers.
This Berliner weisse is brewed with orange and lemon zest. Or maybe it’s more proper to say that it’s fermented with lemon and orange zest. It’s flavor is very refreshing and light. Lemons are noticed firstly and then the aftertaste of sweet orange comes. I think lemons are more easily tasted because of the initial sourness that the Berliner weisse wears in itself.
Color is very light, but I have had beers that were a lot lighter. This one is maybe the typical color of a beer and comes with a bit of haziness. Carbonation was on the mid levels too. Not overcarbed, as you can expect from some sour beers and most commonly Berliner weisse beers. The taste of the beer was very similar to a lemonade one, but a bit more sour than traditional lemonade.
Overall, I liked this beer a lot. It didn’t have some fancy and mind blowing ingredients, but its balanced flavor was very easy to enjoy and refresh your soul. So… enough for now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. See you soon.

I'm a big fan of the tropical tasting IPA more when it's summer here. I like how beer is more of an art with the designs on the cans for these craft brews. For me, that looks like a really good colour. I find that it's got to be quite delicate in flavour to get it right. I have some like this that sometimes have a bit of an overpowering flavour and that's not the best. Cheers 🍻
