Ein jeder Biertrinker kennt es, dieses ja fast tiefschwarze Bierchen mit der schneeweißen Krone.
Ein Klassiker, weltweit zu haben und sicher auch ein Aushängeschild für irische Lebensart.
Die Rede ist hier natürlich vom GUINNESS, dem wohl bekanntesten Bier Irlands.
Unbekannt war mir dagegen, das die Brauer aber auch ganz andere Sorten als das Dunkle im Programm haben und bei näherer Recherche stellte ich fest, das es in deren Brauhaus farbenfroher zugeht als erwartet.
Auslöser meiner Neugier war dieses HOP HOUSE LAGER, dessen Nr.13 mich aus dem Bierregal des Supermarktes anlächelte und als ich auf dieser Flasche den Namen Guinness entdeckte, glaubte ich erst an einen Streich den mir meine Augen spielten.

It's a classic, available all over the world, and certainly a symbol of the Irish way of life.
We're talking here, of course, about GUINNESS, probably Ireland's best-known beer.
Unknown to me, however, was that the brewers but also have other varieties than the dark in the program, and on closer investigation, I found that it is in their brewhouse more colorful than expected.
The trigger of my curiosity was this HOP HOUSE LAGER, whose Nr.13 smiled at me from the beer shelf of the supermarket and when I discovered the name Guinness on this bottle, I believed first in a trick that played me my eyes.
Ein klarer Kandidat für den BeerSaturday vom @detlev, der uns diese Woche bereits zum 226igsten mal dazu nötigt, den Kronkorken von der Flasche zu reißen, einen kräftigen Schluck zu nehmen und die Welt daran teilhaben zu lassen.
Diesen Gefallen tue ich ihm gerne und so schaute ich mir den Iren mal etwas genauer an.
A clear candidate for the BeerSaturday of @detlev, which forces us this week already for the 226th time to tear the crown cork from the bottle, to take a strong sip, and to let the world participate in it.
This favor I do him gladly and so I looked at the Irishman times a little closer.
Erleichtert stellte ich fest, das sich die Unglückszahl 13 nicht auf den Alkoholgehalt bezieht. Zwar bin ich nicht abergläubisch, doch bei dem Gedanken eine Flasche 13% prozentiges Bier trinken zu müssen, wurde mir schon etwas mulmig.
So sind es aber sympathische 5% VOL/ALC die hier geboten werden, also rechnete ich optimistisch mit einem würzigen, süffigen Bier.
Ob ich recht behielt erfahrt ihr gleich.
I was relieved to discover that the unlucky number 13 does not refer to the alcohol content. Although I am not superstitious, at the thought of a bottle of 13% percent beer to drink, I was already a little queasy.
So it is but pleasant 5% VOL/ALC which are offered here, so I optimistically expected a spicy, tasty beer.
Whether I was right, you'll find out in a moment.
Etwas enttäuscht blickte ich auf den rasanten Zusammensturz der Schaumkrone, als das Bier seinen Weg ins Glas fand, auch wenn die Farbe ein Augenschmaus war. Ermutigend dagegen, war der würzige Duft welcher sich nun breit machte und so zögerte ich nicht lange und setzte zum Zuge an.
I looked somewhat disappointed at the rapid collapse of the foam crown as the beer made its way into the glass, even if the color was a feast for the eyes. Encouraging, however, was the spicy aroma which now spread and so I did not hesitate long and started to pull.
YippieYeah ein Volltreffer!
Scheiß auf die Krone, dachte ich mir, dieser edle Tropfen hat solch Schickimickie gar nicht nötig.
Ein herrlich bitteres, vollmundiges und würziges Bier, welches mich eher an ein gelungenes PILS erinnerte, rann mir die Kehle hinunter und ließ mich erleichtert durchatmen.
Das war definitiv ein Glücksgriff und mit Sicherheit wird eine weitere Flasche den Weg in meinen Kühlschrank finden.
Beim nächsten mal trinke ich es aber direkt aus der Flasche, um mir den eher etwas traurigen Anblick im Glas zu ersparen.

Fuck the crown, I thought to myself, this noble drop has such fancy stuff, not at all necessary.
A wonderfully bitter, full-bodied, and spicy beer, which reminded me more of a successful PILS, ran down my throat and let me breathe a sigh of relief.
This was definitely a lucky find and for sure another bottle will find its way into my fridge.
Next time, however, I'll drink it straight from the bottle to spare myself the rather sad sight in the glass.

Cheers! I tasted this Irish lager a few times, it is sold in our local shops in cans and I have to say it's quite good. It lacks nothing. It's just the price is high for a lager, here it costs 1.70€, other lagers are up to 1.20€ Maybe because of the Guinness brewery? !BEER
Here it costs a little more, but delicious it was.
What is actually going on with the !BEER Transporter? I hope he gets well soon. 😎🍻
