My first #BeerSaturday post and a Hive themed IPA

As this is my first post for #BeerSaturday I thought what better beer to choose than one of the many fine selections from the SALT Brewery in Yorkshire.

All of their beers come in cans with a honeycomb branding not too dissimilar from that of our native Hive blockchain so it seemed the obvious choice!

The beer I'm drinking here is Batik, a tropical IPA. To say it is fruity would be an understatement this tastes like a carton of Umbongo with an alcohol kick (just like mum used to make) with flavours of mango, pineapple and passion fruit. All in all a nice refreshing beer for a warm summers day - 7/10 rating

The name SALT comes from Titus Salt a 19th century industrialist and founder of the town Saltaire where the brewery is located. While Batik itself is an Indonesian technique for dyeing cloth and with Indonesia being slightly more tropical than Yorkshire it seems a sensible choice for this particular drink. Given that Saltaire was one of many major garment manufacturing centres in the North of England during the industrial revelation, all the names of SALT's beers are in some way related to the cotton industry.
