Every year BCBP celebrates its anniversary on the 7th day of September. But for this year, we celebrate our anniversary last September 6 since the 7th day falls on Sunday. We agreed that if we were having our celebration on Sunday we won't have time to prepare our home and other things needed for our work on Monday. Before the celebration, the women's council prepared very well for our celebration. We always had our meeting for the planning of the said event. This year's theme was "Together Through Time: A Journey In Faith and Service to God." We created various committees to prepare for the various tasks for the celebration. I drafted the flow of the program, and my co-chair designed and printed the hard copy. Every committee works hand in hand to make the celebration meaningful and productive.
The celebration was held at Prince Inn. It started with the registration followed by mass, dinner, breakfast in the dark, the anniversary program proper, and dancing with the live band together with the dance instructor. It was the grandest celebration but I was not so happy that night since I was still suffering a pain in my gums brought by infection. In fact, I was not able to eat that night and felt shamed to participate in that event since I did not wear my gown because I have become more slender now. But I needed to show them that I'm happy so that I belong with them and to make my husband not worry about me.
The celebration shows unity and camaraderie that binds the members of BCBP not only as a community but as a family.
