HivePH Update on Curation Posts

I have previously announced the small changes made with automating parts of the curation process here.

The Old System:

Set featured authors as beneficiaries for the post rewards and donate part of it to @whoaretheyph.

The New System:

Set curators for the featured posts as beneficiaries and keep donating part of the rewards to @whoaretheyph.

The goal of putting the old system in place was to give better reward distribution for everyone. As it gives people more reasons to upvote the account organically. Because the long term thinking is as the account grows, it can give out greater rewards back to the community.

You may have notice that this account doesn't spam your posts with "upvoted by hiveph etc." just to flaunt votes worth peanuts. So we just do it on this blog for transparency that the community is still active and doing it's volunteer service.

The basic requirement to get a vote is just using the #philippines or #hiveph tag on a post. Even post promotions are automated to the point that we can conveniently see if you're posts are up whenever you use the tag.

The old system failed to spark any moot interest whatsoever to the efforts which is fine. I never had high hopes for it and it and the results are within expectations.

So now the new system is in place to reward curators for finding posts. I don't think people realize that even if this account just gives a small vote value, it still leads a trail which compounds the votes receive. So with respect to the rewards if just gives out for free, I think it's well justified that putting featured authors is already more than enough of a generous gesture.

The real costs of operating this whole show goes to the backend automation and people manually looking at your posts. Again, time spent doing the curation is time not spent on self and I like to compensate people that give a fuck about what we do as a community.
