Located in the Southern part of Visayas. From the 3 regions that are divided in the Philippines. A small town with a small population. A peaceful town with an attitude of typical Pinoy. Yes, that's macrohon and it's my hometown.
People are not rich but an abundance of generosity. Neighbours are giving food to each other when they have plenty for themselves. You will often see people called "tambay" in our own dialect or bystanders. Do not be afraid, they mean no harm. They may stare at you because the faces are new. Sometimes we will just want to say by looking at those new faces by "welcome."
It's being part of the Philippines seeing locals outside chit-chatting. They said they're doing "tsismis" from our own dialect again. Well, you know the people in our town or it's just part of us being a Filipino. We love to have conversations outside that kill our time if there's nothing to be done.
If you need help as you want to carry stuff. Just call the neighbours or the bystanders over there. They are willing to help for sure for free. It's up to you if you'll feed them with bread or biscuits and soft drinks. It's for you to decide because they won't ask you to give one. Helping for us is like not that big deal. We help because it's being part of our culture.
Macrohon doesn't have beautiful places like other town do. Our beaches are simple but still have white sand beaches. But we can forget those pretty places and let's focus on the beautiful people over there.
They will do fighting sometimes but not a long time they will become friends. They will now offer what they have. It's so funny to think that way but again it became part of our culture. Oh, I almost forgot the best thing in our town. Most of us there are friends. If we talked once, expect that the next day we will greet each other through our eyes and raising up our eyebrows.
We also love to eat with friends. Money is not an issue because if we don't have money we will find food to eat. But it's not all the time since sometimes someone will offer to buy food for all of us. If that person has more money, she/he will don't care if the money will be spent. The important is that the happiness it could give to all of us.
That's my town, Macrohon. Full of wonderful people that for sure you would want to live if you'll experience to stay here once. I'm not exaggerating it but try if so you will understand why I'm saying this.
