Hablar de modificaciones al calendario de la Fórmula 1 cuando estamos a pocos días de iniciar la segunda parte parece algo absurdo.

Sin embargo los coletazos de la pandemia (esperemos que más que coletazos sean estertores de este mal invisible) todavía se hacen sentir en los ambientes deportivos. Y la F1 no escapa a ellos.

Cuando todo parecía encaminarse a una situación en líneas generales lo más parecido a una "normalidad en tiempos de pandemia" el Covid sigue dictando reglas y condiciones para la celebración de algunos eventos deportivos.

La falta de autorización para la reunión de un gran número de personas en los espectáculos deportivos por miedo a un recrudecimiento de la pandemia a hecho que algunos organizadores hayan declarado el forfait.

En forma algo inesperada Lewis Hamilton logró remontar en las dos últimas carreras una ventaja importante del holandés y cerrar la primera parte de la temporada al top de la clasifica Pilotos. / Somewhat unexpectedly, Lewis Hamilton managed to overtake the Dutchman in the last two races to close the first part of the season at the top of the Drivers' standings.

Considerando que mucha de la publicidad es visiva porque se basa en la cartelonística y demás esponsorizaciones audiovisivas muchos anunciantes han limitado sus gastos en publicidad y otros directamente la han retirado de algunos premios.

La disminución de estas entradas sumadas al faltante producido por la no-venta de entradas hace que los organizadores deban reestructurar y en modos casos renunciar a estos eventos.

En noviembre del año pasado la FIA confirmaba el calendario en la esperanza de no verse afectada por los confinamientos del Covid-19

Este era el calendario con una plaza por anunciar en el mes de Abril:

En realidad ese lugar debia ser cubierto por el GP del Vietnam en Hanoi que debía ser la sede, prevista en forma provisional, de su primer gran premio de F1 en 2020 antes de su cancelación debido a la pandemia del COVID-19, y que había sido en consecuencia postergado en el 2020 y confirmado para el 2021.

De esa manera al inicio de la temporada 2021 contabamos con 23 carreras.

Desde ese momento hasta la fecha ha habido siete actualizaciones y/o modificaciones al programa o calendario inicial.

Esta semana fue confirmada la cancelación del GP de Japón en el circuito de Suzuka debido a la completa situación pandémica que se vive en aquel pais. De esta manera, por segundo año consecutivo, el gran premio del Japón estará ausente en el calendario de la F1.

Esa carrera debía disputarse en el mes de Octubre entre los grandes premios de Rusia y Turquía.

Veamos cuales son.

In November last year the FIA confirmed the calendar in the hope of not being affected by the confinements of Covid-19.

This was the calendar with one place to be announced in April.

In reality that place was to be covered by the Vietnam GP in Hanoi which was to be the tentatively scheduled venue of its first F1 Grand Prix in 2020 before its cancellation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and which had been consequently postponed in 2020 and confirmed for 2021.

Thus at the start of the 2021 season we had 23 races.

Since that time to date there have been seven updates and/or modifications to the initial program or schedule.

This week it was confirmed the cancellation of the Japanese GP at the Suzuka circuit due to the complete pandemic situation in that country. Thus, for the second consecutive year, the Japanese Grand Prix will be absent from the F1 calendar.

That race was to be held in October between the Grand Prix of Russia and Turkey.

1.- El primer cambio la FIA confirma que el Gran Premio de Australia en el tradicional circuito de Albert Park pasa de ser el primero de la temporada a ser el último en disputarse. China, en ese momento, queda como reserva.

2.- El circuito portugués de Portimao se confirma como substituto del GR de China. Portimao había tenido su primera edición en el año 2020.

3.- Los nefastos presagios que venían llegando desde Canadá se confirman y nuevamente este año el circuito Gilles Villenueve de Montreal en la isla de Notre-Dame estará ausente en el Mundial de la Fórmula 1. Se anuncia que Turquia podría reemplazar el evento.

4.- Poco dura la alegría de la noticia anterior. El circuito turco también es eliminado del calendario. El gobierno de Turquia decide organizar la competencia fijando algunas condiciones que son consideradas no viables por la F1.

Dada la inminencia de las competencias la F1 decide cubrir esta falencia adelantando una semana el GP de Francia y organizando, como el año pasado, un doble evento en Austria.

5.- Renuncia Singapur a organizar su carrera al no llegar a tiempo a organizar la logística que requiere la organización de un GP en F1. La FIA a diferencia de otras veces no anuncia un substituto.

6.- La FIA recompensa Turquia (la eliminación de su gran premio era debido a razone políticas ligadas a la pandemia ya que había sido incluida en una supuesta "lista roja" por el gobierno británico) y Liberty Media le ha dado la vacante del cancelado Gran Premio de Singapur al ser sacada Turquia de esa lista.

7.- El rebrote de la pandemia en Australia afecta la organización del Gran premio a celebrarse en el circuito de Albert Park en el mes de noviembre. Todavia no hay nada decidido.

8.- Esta semana fue confirmada la cancelación del GP de Japón en el circuito de Suzuka debido a la completa situación pandémica que se vive en aquel pais. De esta manera, por segundo año consecutivo, el gran premio del Japón estará ausente en el calendario de la F1.

Otra baja sensible en el actual calendario de la F1 es la ausencia de Singapur. / Another significant drop in the current F1 calendar is the absence of Singapore.
