Cada temporada que pasa la máxima categoría del automovilismo deportivo es más enigmática. Los equipos tienen tanto miedo a que sus rivales descubran sus secretos que esconden todo lo que pueden su verdadero potencial hasta el momento extremo en que deben mostrarlo. Es decir, las pruebas de clasificación y las propias carreras.
Las presentaciones oficiales de los autos de la F1 de este año fue más un elemento para uso y consumo de las redes sociales que un evento real en el cuál los autos presentados hicieran suponer, a grandes líneas, cuál sería su fisonomía definitiva, en un año en el que por todos los medios a su disposición la FIA promocionó una "verdadera revolución en la Fórmula 1 para la temporada 2022". No solo en materia aerodinámica.
Las primeras sesiones de pruebas no oficiales en Montmeló siguieron mostrando autos con pocos cambios, muchos similares y grandes problemas con los "saltitos" o purpoising que esos cambios habían ocasionado en el andar de los distintos monoplazas, sin excepción
Cuando parecía que los test oficiales en el circuito de Shakir mostrarían el verdadero rendimiento aparecen las primeras sorpresas, porque cada equipo en si mismo proyectó testear aspectos del auto que su rival ignoraba y, por lo tanto, los tiempos terminaron no siendo compatibles, y mucho menos comparables.
Porque no es lo mismo recorrer centenares de kms con gomas blandas, super blandas, medias o duras. Algunos piensan en el desarrollo de la carrara y otros piensan, en cambio, como mostrarse a los mass media obteniendo buenos tiempos, aunque en realidad tengan poco que ver con el normal desarrollo de una carrera.
