Un viejo dicho popular menciona con extraordinaria precisión que no hay mal que dure 100 años ni cuerpo que lo resista. Esos antiguos adagios y proverbios están basados en la realidad acontecida durante decenas o cientos de años, difícilmente no se cumplan, aunque ciertamente algunos son contradictorios.
Este domingo finalmente se quebró una racha de 13 años sin triunfos de mi equipo favorito, Gimnasia y Esgrima de la Plata contra nuestro clásico rival, Estudiantes de la Plata.
Ya había indicios de que semejante seguidilla estaba por concluir, en los últimos dos años no nos ganaron, empatamos los 4 encuentros disputados; en uno de esos clásicos estábamos ganando 4 a 2 pero finalmente nos empataron en un recordado 4 a 4, por supuesto fue festejado por los contrincantes como un triunfo más.
En esta oportunidad no tenía demasiadas esperanzas sobre un posible triunfo, el equipo está compuesto principalmente por jugadores muy jóvenes surgidos de nuestras inferiores, lo cual no es malo para nada pero los motivos no son precisamente un plan ideado para promover figuras jóvenes de la propia cantera sino consecuencia de la inhibición que pesa sobre nuestro club para adquirir jugadores, algunos juicios inconclusos por deudas no saldadas y otras cuestiones llevaron a que en los últimos dos años no pudiéramos comprar a nadie. En parte mejor porque Gimnasia o mejor dicho sus directivos se han caracterizado por comprar mal y caro.
Pero estos jóvenes con poca experiencia profesional mezclados con algunos escasos jugadores de más edad fogueados en la competencia dura de la primera división del fútbol argentino dieron la sorpresa y vencieron a Estudiantes por 2 a 1.
El encuentro había comenzado de la peor manera, a los 4 minutos ya perdíamos 1 a 0 por una distracción proveniente de un saque lateral. No pintaba bien el panorama pero a base de ganas, esfuerzo y corazón, no de buen fútbol, el equipo comenzó lentamente a dominar las acciones. Recién en el segundo tiempo se pudo empatar y poco antes del final pasar al frente gracias a un penal bastante tonto otorgado por la defensa rival.
Fin para 4792 días sin triunfos.
Las estadísticas del encuentro demuestran claramente que nuestros juveniles fueron superiores y solo la buena actuación del arquero rival evitó que el encuentro pudiera tener una definición más abultada.
Para no hablar solamente de mi equipo favorito y haciendo un repaso del resto de la jornada que recién terminará en el día de hoy, les comento que Boca Juniors ha vuelto a perder y su performance luego de disputados 8 encuentros de la liga es a todas luces decepcionante, el técnico Hugo Ibarra pende de un hilo.
Para mayor penuria de los zeneizes, River Plate ganó cómodamente en su visita a Sarmiento de Junín y se trepó a la cima de la tabla, lugar de privilegio que podría perder hoy si San Lorenzo triunfa en su encuentro contra Newell’s Old Boys de Rosario.
Veremos como termina la jornada y si este triunfo de mi querido Lobo platense nos da empuje para mejorar en lo que resta del campeonato, lo necesitamos para engrosar nuestro promedio y evitar el tan temido descenso.

This Sunday a 13-year winless streak of my favorite team, Gimnasia y Esgrima de la Plata against our classic rival, Estudiantes de la Plata, was finally broken.
There were already indications that such a run was about to end, in the last two years they did not beat us, we tied the 4 games we played, and in one of those games we were winning 4-2 but finally they tied us in a memorable 4-4 match, of course, celebrated by the opponents as one more triumph.
On this occasion, I did not have too much hope for a possible victory, our team is made up mainly of very young players from our inferiors, which is not bad at all, but the reasons are not exactly a plan devised to promote young figures from the quarry itself. Rather, it is a consequence of the inhibition that weighs on our club to acquire players, some inconclusive lawsuits due to unpaid debts, and other issues that have meant that in the last two years, we have not been able to buy anyone. In part better because Gymnastics or rather its managers have been characterized by buying badly and expensively.
But these youngsters with little professional experience mixed with a few older players trained in the tough competition of the first division of Argentine soccer gave the surprise and beat Estudiantes 2-1.
The match had started in the worst way, after 4 minutes we were already losing 1-0 due to a distraction from a side kick. The outlook did not look good but based on desire, effort, and heart, not good football, the team slowly began to dominate the actions. Only in the second half was it possible to tie and shortly before the end go to the front thanks to a rather silly penalty awarded by the rival defense.

The statistics of the match clearly show that our juniors were superior and only the good performance of the rival goalkeeper prevented the match from having a more bulky definition.
Not only to talk about my favorite team and reviewing the rest of the day that will just end today, I tell you that Boca Juniors has lost again and their performance after playing 8 league games is clearly disappointing, coach Hugo Ibarra is hanging by a thread.
To add to the hardship of the Zeneizes, River Plate won comfortably on their visit to Sarmiento de Junín and climbed to the top of the table, a privileged place that they could lose today if San Lorenzo triumphs in their match against Newell's Old Boys from Rosario.
We will see how the day ends and this victory of my dear Lobo from La Plata gives us the push to improve in the remainder of the championship, we need it to improve our average and avoid the much-feared relegation.
