Exploring the mighty Côa river

The endless rains finally ceased, letting a bright, warm sun shine through the clearing skies.
It was time to explore an unknown trail and recharge the soul.
thank you @magsdiasilva for the inspiration to always keep exploring this beautiful piece of heaven.

The winding roads around Sabugal lead me to the "Termas do Cró" where the PR8 SBG starts and ends.

the flyer stated that due to river crossings, it is advised to walk this trail in Summer or Spring when water levels are lower, an advise I chose to ignore.
I did borrow a long sturdy hiking stick from my son´s collection to serve me in these crossings which happened to be a wise decision.
crossings of the river in that area are over "poldras", large stone slabs placed across that become totally submerged as water volume increases.
at least the source of the water is not melting snow, so the water isn´t that cold...

A perfect day
