Pues, ¡si!, una semilla que representa la femineidad y masculinidad, la unión del cielo con el mar, el encontrar el amor verdadero, entre otros; adicionalmente, desde tiempos de nuestros primeros indígenas, ha sido parte de su indumentaria como amuleto de protección contra los malos espíritus.
Se trata de la semilla conocida popularmente como "Peonía", cuenta con dos hermosos y brillantes colores y, como dato curioso, para que el árbol de peonía pueda nacer, deben sembrarse dos semillas juntas: una totalmente roja y una semilla bicolor rojo y negro.
Recuerdo de niña, cuando nació mi hermano menor, mi mamá le colocó una semilla de peonía en el tobillo izquierdo, ya que confiaba que de esta manera, el bebé estaba protegido contra la envidia y el mal de ojo, es por ello, que en honor a ese recuerdo, quiero traerles este dije, engastado en hilo dorado para llevar como ayuda adicional de protección.
Did you know that in Venezuela, there is a two-coloured seed that resembles Yin and Yan?
Well, yes, a seed that represents femininity and masculinity, the union of the sky with the sea, finding true love, among others; additionally, since the time of our first indigenous people, it has been part of their clothing as an amulet of protection against evil spirits.
It is the seed popularly known as "Peony", it has two beautiful and bright colours and, as a curious fact, in order for the peony tree to grow, two seeds must be sown together: a totally red seed and a two-coloured red and black seed.
I remember as a child, when my younger brother was born, my mother placed a peony seed on his left ankle, as she trusted that in this way, the baby was protected against envy and the evil eye, that is why, in honour of that memory, I want to bring you this charm, set in gold thread to wear as an extra help of protection.

Pasos a seguir:
Trata de encontrar semillas que ya cuenten con un orificio, por el que pasaras el hilo de bisutería nro. 18, con la ayuda de una pinza plana, realiza un doblez en el hilo al que previamente hemos dejado unos ocho centímetros de largo.

Try to find seeds that already have a hole, through which you will pass the costume jewellery thread no. 18, with the help of a flat tweezers, make a fold in the thread that we have previously left about eight centimetres long.
Con firmeza, procedemos a rodear la semilla con el hilo, dando un aproximado de dos a tres vueltas, siguiendo el sentido de las manecillas del reloj. Una vez realizadas las vueltas, procedemos a asegurar la pieza, entorchando el hilo en la base que dejamos en el paso anterior (un total de tres vueltas, como muestra la foto)
Firmly, we proceed to surround the seed with the thread, making approximately two to three turns, following the direction of the hands of the clock. Once the turns have been made, we proceed to secure the piece, twisting the thread in the base we left in the previous step (a total of three turns, as shown in the photo).
Con una pinza plana, damos forma a las vueltas que realizamos en la pieza central, formando pequeños espirales que ayudaran a delimitar los bellos colores de la semilla. Seguidamente, con ayuda de nuestra pinza redonda (o pinza mandril), realizamos el aro, por donde se sujetará el colgante, nuevamente asegura con tres vueltas, cortas el excedente y procura de ajustar muy bien el extremo a la pieza, a fin de que no rasguñe a quien lo use.
With a flat tweezers, we shape the turns we made in the central piece, forming small spirals that will help to delimit the beautiful colours of the seed. Then, with the help of our round tweezers (or mandrel tweezers), we make the ring, where the pendant will be attached, again secure with three turns, cut the excess and try to adjust the end of the piece very well, so that it does not scratch the wearer.
Colocamos el dije en un collar de cuerina, a mi me gusta que quede bien pegadito al cuello (35 a 40 cm de diámetro), para que pueda ser visto y así honrar a nuestros antepasados indígenas.
Place the pendant on a leather necklace, I like it to be very close to the neck (35 to 40 cm in diameter), so that it can be seen and thus honour our indigenous ancestors.
Tip de Inicio:
En caso de no tener pinzas de bisutería, puedes utilizar las herramientas que normalmente usamos en labores de reparación del hogar y un lápiz (para hacer el aro del colgante) sólo debes tener cuidado de no rayar el alambre de bisutería (no tiene reemplazo).

In case you don't have costume jewellery pliers, you can use the tools we normally use in home repair work and a pencil (to make the pendant ring) just be careful not to scratch the costume jewellery wire (it has no replacement).
