A Gift For A Friend, Make The Artwork Into A Worry Stone

Hello, how are you? Last year, I decided to give Ate @straykat a hand-painted tote bag with a design of sunflowers, and this year I am thinking of what handmade I am going to give her and then because I love doing clay this year I decided to give her one and what kind of clay and then I saw the Mochi Worry Stone I made last year, but what design I am going to give and then I saw her a video of her artwork on Tiktok The Original Art and a lightbulb pop out my head this is it. I was supposed to mail it to her, but she asked me if I am available tomorrow, and that day there is going to be a power interruption for the whole day, and it has been a while since we hung out together.

Materials I Used:

  • Polymer Clay
  • Glass Sheet
  • Acrylic Stamping Block
  • Dotting Tool
  • Paper
  • Oven
  • UV Resin
  • X- Acto Knife
  • UV Lamp
  • Brush
  • Disposable Gloves
  • Mask

Craft Time!

First thing I do is to gather all the colors I need in one place, and then I condition them by kneading them by hand, starting with the light color and then the dark. By doing this, it will not stain light colors by transferring them onto my hand when kneading.

I first sculpt the body by shaping it into a ball.

And then using the stamping block, I flatten the clay into circle shape just like I did to the photo.

Using my thumb, I created a dent enough for my finger to rub on and smooth that part just like I did on the photo.

To make the eye, I just grab a white clay of the same size and then shape it into a ball and flatten it using the acrylic stamping block.

Then I added those eyes onto the clay.

And then for the color of its eyes, just like I did on the white, I rolled the two clays into a ball and flattened it out using the acrylic stamping block, making sure this one is smaller than the white one so that it can leave a margin on the corner, just like a regular eye. And then I added the blush using pink clay, and for the nose, I used a red shape, like a triangle shape, and added those into the body of the clay.

For the mouth and teeth, I roll some white clay onto a paper into a thin line, thin enough to fit onto the space where the mouth is, and then cut it using an X-Acto Knife and carefully place them using the dotting tool.

For the sparkles of the eyes and whiskers, I use this glow-in-the-dark clay, shape it, and place it in the middle of the eye. I forgot to tell Ate Kat that the eyes glow in the dark. "If you're reading this, to make the eye glow, make sure to put the clay under the sun, or if you have a UV lamp, use it for about a minute, and the eyes will glow." LOL

34.JPG

35.JPG

For the ears, I grab two equal-sized black clay and then shape them into cat ears, and then after that, I layer them with pink clay just like I did earlier.

For the sprouting stars, I use yellow and green clay and shape the yellow into a star, and then green into a thin line enough to hold the stars. And then I almost forgot to add the hand, feet, and tail, so I

Then bake in a preheated oven and set the timer and temperature on the packaging of the clay as instructed, and after that, let the clay cool down first before proceeding to the next step.

45.JPG

After that, for extra protection, I added UV Resin onto the clay and then applied it using a brush.

46.JPG

47.JPG

Cure it under a UV Lamp for a few minutes or until there is no sticky texture.

Did a small photoshoot before packing it in :D

I hope you, Ate Kat, liked it.

Secure it in a plastic packaging and then put it into the cardboard box I made before wrapping it with cotton string for extra protection.
