There was a few things I still needed to get to be ready to go move offgrid and one of those things was a multitool. In Mexico they have a distributor of Leatherman tools and whilst its still possible to order online, I took advantage of it and got a leatherman Rebar.

It arrived yesterday!

I'd never owned one before but had recently been reminded of them. There are many replicas online in mexico, replicas of everything from china, so it was better to just buy one from the main dealer.

The perfect colours.. Black and Gold!

These are really useful, and in conjunction with a fixed blade knife you have a great combination You can do almost anything with them in the middle of the forest - these don't replace a knife, even though they do have a blade on them.

Somehow on the website it worked out much cheaper to get it with the leather case? Not complaining at all there! Not sure why but the case is made in Mexico it says, so that's a bit confusing.

The leather case has a much better design for a belt than the nylon case

You can feel the quality straight away as you hold it in your hand. Both sides of the tool have locking features which is really cool. Below is the part to press to unlock the arms.

The Tool itself

The first thing I noticed was the quality of the pliers and the way it has been made.

Highly recommended if you don't already have one!

I had no clue that there was such a selection of tools made by the same company. This one was around 75 usd with free posting. cant complain at all. I didn't see the need to go all out and spend mega bucks, firstly because I'm broke at the moment and secondly because this one is perfect. Even the Leatherman Rev, which is around 60 USD is great tool for being outdoors with, its like a swiss army pen knife, but with pliers!

Have a great day - Stay focused and stay free!!

Fantastic buy I'm sure it will be very useful.

well pleased with it! definitely will come in handy, well actually it has already!

Ahh yes, i used to have one but foolishly put it in my luggage on a trip to Argentina and it was stolen out of my bag. Thanks for the reminder to get another one!

Ouch!! yeh there is a leatherman.com.mx I think it is, free postage and arrived within 3 days!

I carry a Leatherman Wave just about every day. There are few multi-tools that can rival its quality and versatility. A Swiss Army knife works better as a knife, maybe, but I use the Leatherman pliers more often than any other tool it has.
