Mojo's Life - Getting More Relaxed

Our furry friend is making progress every day

Although some steps my same very tiny to some people, we feel very proud every time we have reached a new "YAY" moment with Mojo. This can be from getting Mojo to get close to us without being spooked by a sudden movement to eating out of our hands. But I have to admit that I truly enjoy seeing how Mojo really tries to follow a lot of what our daughter is doing and even comes to sit next to the chair and watch her when she's drawing and totally Zen. I also love how Mojo comes from under the closet to stretch and then meows to whoever says "Hi Mojo". You probably already guessed that we still all watch "Cat-tv" lot!

The first time Mojo slept on the scratching pole

This utmost adorable upside-down kitten moment all started with this:

Earlier this week, out of the blue this little friend of ours decided that the purple feather toy was going to be the reason to admit that the scratching pole was a good place to rest and later be passed out completely. The only way to lure Mojo to this area first was by placing snacks on top of it, but once these were gone, Mojo immediately traded this for another place in the room.

That is until some days ago, where Mojo decided this purple feather toy was not that bad after all. It was even so great that it was used as some sort of pillow, haha. At this point, we totally expected this was all the cuteness for the day and it would end here. We were wrong!

Playing with the tiny hooman is exhausting!

Our daughter takes her tasks regarding our cat very seriously! In the morning, the first thing she does is look where Mojo is, great Mojo and then get food and water. What a good cat-momma! Mojo is very appreciative when she does this and starts meowing to her immediately, even while still a little careful standing there to eat when we pass that spot as we start our day too. Still, we can see that it's improving by the day. I mean, we can all feed Mojo from our hands already, as soon as something good is presented you see that little nose moving and wondering what is this goodness and where does it come from? Then Mojo does not even doubt anymore to come to us directly, this is huge progress compared to a week ago!

Every morning, Mojo gets to have a play round of a few hours with our daughter. And that's very exhausting! Especially when you count eating and making sure you see everything that's going on. Although not a tiny kitten anymore, we still consider Mojo a kitten so rest is needed!

We were in absolute awe when we finally saw Mojo in plain sight laying on the side (and back) showing the belly without being afraid of us hoomans. On top of the absolute cuteness overload we had by looking at Mojo sleeping (djeez, cat tv is a thing!) we also felt so happy that this is a good step forward in trusting us.

Out of order, come back in an hour!

The first dinner session near our daughter

You can see how this time Mojo was still a little afraid to actually sit down, I can tell you that just a few days later, this has changed completely, there's big progress in trusting us while giving food. We have the dry food at the same spot every time but for the wet food and snacks we try to take turns to let Mojo get closer so that we can build more trust. It seems to be working great and we all enjoy these moments!

Not so nice discovery

Although we had not seen it before, yesterday I discovered worms in Mojo's poop. I tried to get an appointment at the vet as we already planned on going there in the next two weeks tops. We wanted to give him some time to build trust to avoid this visit becoming a huge traumatic experience for Mojo. Now we have a reason to go there a little sooner, Mojo also scratches so we suspect fleas as well. We have no clue how to apply that stuff on Mojo's neck while we still can't pet him so this is a good reason to let the vet take care of that for this one time until we know we won't break the trust we just built with Mojo. I much rather have Mojo angry at this stranger than us, lol.

I hope we can visit the vet on Monday and also maybe find out a little more about the possible age, and confirming of the gender. Hopefully, we can get these things taken care of quickly and give Mojo some relief.

First of many more moments like this to come, but you can double that by getting another kitten! 🤩

I wish I could sleep that much in a day! LOL

He's very cute and really loves his feather toy. Yeah, I had to deworm Munchkin. Giving him that medicine with the syringe was challenging but he got a treat right after to get the taste out of his mouth.
