|| Rohu Fish with Moong Daal|| - Bengali traditional recipe

In today’s blog I'm gonna share a traditional bengali recipe which is Rohu fish with moong daal / মুড়ি ঘন্ট।

It's my granny special dish.This is kinda spicy fish head curry type dish. You can serve it with polao,nun,porota or fresh rice whatever we want to. Without any further delay let’s get into main preparation....

Ingredients

• Rohu fish
• Moong dal
• Clove
• Pepper
• Bay leaf
• Cardamom
• Sliced onion
• Ginger paste
• Garlic paste
• Cumin seed paste
• Red chili powder
• Turmeric powder
• Coriander powder
• Salt

Cooking process

Put a pan on stove and make it heat. Put some oil into it then add bay leaf, cardamom, clove, pepper and then 1 cup of sliced onion. Make it fry until it turns into light brown, after that add 2 tea spoon of ginger garlic paste and 1 tea spoon of cumin seed paste. Put a dash of water into it then add red chili powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder. Put pinch of salt to taste and then cook for few minutes.

Then add rohu fish here and mixed it well with the gravy and cook it for 3 minutes.

After two or three minutes add here moong daal. Make sure that it properly cleaned and before wash make it shallow fry for 2 minutes. After adding daal mixed it well with gravy and all the fishes. Cook it for 5 minutes, keep the flame low and slowly cooked it.

After few minutes add a dash of water into it and wait for proper boiling. Once it done then add some green chili and coriander leaf for fragrance. You can add add lemon grass for fragrance if you want. Keep your flame low and keep cooking for 10 minutes. After that your dish has been ready to serve.
