"I'm not an addict", Diya yelled at them.
The look from their faces always makes her mad, the faces showing some kind of sympathy. She usually ignored these opinions when they were from friends and neighbours, this time it was from her dad. He isn't someone whose words she couldn't just ignore. she ran into bed and closed the door.

Diya was a shy kid even from her childhood, she only talked with her mother. Even her stepmom didn't get an opportunity to talk to her for the first few years. She never talked to her dad about her real mother after her death, she was at her extreme sadness for a few months after her mother's death. Father tried to talk to her and get her out of the state, she always ran away when he tried to talk about her mom. She never tried to talk about her after her death, it's after a few months
of secluded life, she came back to normal.

It's her mother who is the reason for her this addiction, for which everyone's blaming her. It isn't the worst things like addictions towards drugs. In her own words "I just love playing these video games, that's all.".

Things got worse after moving to this city, this's the hometown of her stepmother's. She also loved this change in the environment at first. But things started changing eventually, the people at the place they were staying before really knew her character even from childhood. So most of them didn't try to mess with her. In this town, she's an extreme introvert, who only spends her time in video games. Everyone blamed her father for her this attitude. They talked like it's this games that made her like this. Even when her father knew the truth, eventually he also changed. He also started believing that it's these games that made her like this.

It's why he tried to talk to her out of it, eventually, his words became a little bit rough and that's why she yelled ran into her little cage. She hasn't eaten anything after coming from school. Her father's words were repeating on her ears. " You are insane, It's time for you to stop this bullshit gaming and start to mingle with people." She knew she was insane, but she believed that this insanity is the thing that defines her. She replied to her dad at that, she was like this even from the beginning. She questioned him about why he didn't try to change her in the first place.

Her stepmother listened to all this and stayed silent. Helen was a poor woman, she loved Diya like her own kid. Diya always tried to ignore her, she didn't even smile at her. Diya's eyes were getting filled with tears, it dropped on the pillow. She's hugging the pillow and crying. It's now the thoughts about her mother that was going through her head, the first game she bought for her. A game about the adventures of a smart little princess. Smartness is something even Diya herself believed that it's a thing she could never have. But in those game worlds, she was the smartest.

She tried to balance her defaults in her real life with the achievements in the fake one. All these thoughts were going through her mind when she was laying on that bed. It was some kind of rewind which was going through her head. Each one of those memories increased her anger towards her father. It's getting dark outside and he mind was also filling with this darkness.

All of a sudden there was a loud cry, it was Helen's voice.
"Diya Diya...." She never called her name with this much assurance that she will reply. Diya knew that something was wrong. She got out of the bed and started running down the staircase towards the hall. Descending through those steps she saw it, Her father's laying on the floor. Helen is sitting beside him and crying, his eyes are closed.
