Ivy grew up to be a very simple, beautiful and homely girl with so many dreams she wished to achieve but her background didn't let that happen.

Kingsley, a young and handsome man who had a successful career was living his dream. They met and fell in love and Ivy looked upon him like her everything, her world.

Kingsley took it upon himself to help her get what was good for her, her dreams. He wanted her to become independent and live her dreams. He wanted her to understand life harsh ways and be able to make a successful career so that she could take care of herself if he was not around in the future.

He began to guide her in almost everything she does, sometimes scold her for getting some things wrong just so she could get it right. Her dream became his own just to make it come true.

As time goes on, Ivy started becoming independent and successful in life. She had learnt so much from Kingsley that she started feeling like he doesn't have to tell her everything she needs to do, ego sets in. Ivy started having admirers as she was so beautiful, this made her felt like Kingsley was not fit for her anymore since he corrects her in almost every thing she does.

A day came when she caused a fight between the both of them and told him she was no longer in love with him, she wanted to live her own life. Kingsley was so heartbroken, he didn't know how to make her understand that he only wanted her happiness and for her to be able to take care of herself.

He had never thought that day would come when she will get tired of him because he had thought that he would be the one who would get tired of her but he didn't. He tried to make Ivy understand his feelings for her but her ego didn't let her.

All she wanted was to make her own choice and live her own life since she was successful, forgetting who made her such. Kingsley bade her farewell with a broken heart which later lost its beating.

Ivy went her way but couldn't stay for long with the man who made her successful as she was so used to Kingsley and his help for her, she decided to go back to Him but found out that he died the day she left him to live her life. Ivy regretted life from that time on.

So sad that Kingsley died as a result of Ivy jilting him. I'm sure that's a guilt she'd live with for the rest of her life.
Mentor, this story of yours reminds me of a nice movie titled The Longest Ride. You should see it and let me know what you think.

Indeed, she caused his death so she won't be able to forget that.

Hmm the longest ride you say? I'll see if I can download it today, wait for my thinking 😂 thanks mentor

Hmmmm.... Stories that end this way need to sink into people's mind at all times because most of the times, the real world we know is different from how it is projected in movies.

If it was a movie, the lady will still come back and see the guy waiting for her but the reward doesn't always work that way so everyone has to be mindful of the choices they make to avoid regret.

True, you said it all. Our choices and decision goes a long way in causing regrets or happiness so we must be mindful of that.
