(BDC shorts) My Most Favorite Fictional Character

in BDCommunity2 years ago (edited)
I had to stop and ponder upon the topic for a long minute. Which one character do I fancy more, and which one do I actually feel realistic and hence compelled by and which one I just love unconditionally, unexplainably.

Is it Anomander Rake? The fearsome tiste andii ruler/warrior who is unmatched by anyone in solo fighting prowess wielding his legendary sword 'Dragnipur' which actually is a prison in another dimension and anyone he cuts goes there to rot for eternity?

I could probably pick Jef Costello, the dashing cold hitman in Melville's film Le Samourai, played by Alain Delon—my most favorite actor. A hitman so detached from life, yet so meticulous and poignant that he takes my breath away.

Or, is it Ben Adaephon Delat? The snakiest and most resourceful wizard ever walked the world of Malazan. Who never fails to show his trump cards, deep underneath his sleeves, multiple layered. Who is black as me, bald as me and fool for a dead cause.

Perhaps I would pick Ezio Auditore Da Firenze, the master assassin, selfless lover, moral to the death. Who made the world of Assassin's Creed that much more memorable. Whose life I lived, whose sorrows and joys I experienced, with whom I cried.

Or, perhaps the chaotic sappers of Malazan army, who are the most skilled yet most unruly renegade soldiers ever. Who tears through impossible situations by doing the craziest, the unthinkable. They're messy nicknames and I'll remember "Vastly Blank" to my grave. And one among them, Fiddler, one who represents humanity and normalcy in the fantastic world of Malazan, who never stopped questioning the futility of it all.

Or, maybe Revy, the unruly trigger happy gunslinger of Black Lagoon—who stole my heart all those years ago. Her mischievous smile, tomboyish flamboyance, her skills with guns. Everything about her is alluring!

There's Ginko too, the Mushi master from Mushishi—the humble expert. One who knows the way of life, one who tries to help people as much as he can, and as best as he can—knowing his limit.

I don't know who to pick. And you know what? I don’t have to.

Sort:

Man now I became more confused of whom to choose. But um gonna use this trick now brag about some instead of one🤗

Mushi is the coolest depiction of true wise man🖤 man he is just too awesome!
And same goes for Ezio. Btw are you talking about Oliver's book or game?

I'm talking about the game Ezio of course. 😃

Oliver Bowden had a series back then on Assassin's creed, not sure if you knew. 5 Books.
Perhaps was adapted from the game. Was great as well.

Ezio from Assassin's Creed was great. Loved that game.

Eeehh Ezio! Now that's a character to fawn over mum! Also Ginko. He's such a soft spoken wise man.
