Every government had its secret, and for the American government, they had one too many secrets, one of which was known as the Syndicate.

The Syndicate was a private secret organization that had existed for years. The organization dealt with government shady deals that the government wouldn't want to be out in the public. Everything has been going on well between the government and the Syndicate until the Syndicate started making some outrageous offers.

The last meeting between the Government and the Syndicate had not ended well, both parties ended up walking out of each other but not before the Syndicate threatened to deal with anyone who tries to tamper with their operations.

The Syndicate had infiltrated the white house where they've all gathered together to make plans on how to bring down the Syndicate despite the threat that was given to them. The Syndicate had made a promise to them, and they were willing to keep it.

Alex was shocked when he got a call from Langley about a possible bomb threat in the white house.

“Come again, did you say the white house?” Alex asked his handler.

“Yes the white house and you need to get there right away, we've given you access into the building.”

It had taken Alex five dead bodies to get the Information he needed. The fifth guy had given him the location and deactivation code of the bomb in exchange for his life but Alex wasn't really good in keeping promises.

“3, 9, 5” was the code the man gave to Alex before he sent two straight bullets into the man's head.

Alex ran with the speed of a cheetah, the dead man had also told him that the countdown had just five minutes in it before everything goes kaboom. When he finally located the bomb, the timer was at 1:48 and counting. Alex was about inputting the code when he saw something that made him go still, the timer had space for four codes and the dead guy had given him just three codes 3,9,5. He felt like screaming, “What was he going to do?”

Going back up to alert everyone wasn't a good idea as the timer was already at 56 seconds. He was about giving up when an struck him.

“What if the dead guard had given him the correct codes. What if the guard the guard meant 9995 and not 395” Alex decided to go with his instinct, they were going to die anyway.

"20,19,18" the countdown continued.

Alex knew there was no chance for mistake as the timer was one time thing. If the codes were wrong, the bomb would goes off.

So he took a deep breath, crossed his left finger before inputting the code 9995.

And just as the timer got to 4,3,2.... It stopped.
