Lies are lies.
I believe so.
But sometimes we all have to choose some 'well-intentioned untruth' to make our life simple, no?
But what about the guilty feeling? The uncomfortable sense inside your head?
I guess that's when we need to draw a line about to what extent we should choose white lies. Also, being clear to ourselves can save us too.
For a few days, some of my relatives are staying in my home for their work purpose. My son is super excited and happy about this. He got his play partners, people to talk to, show his toys, and whatnot. But they will not stay forever and it's making him so sad, he is reacting negatively, should tantrum.
So we have no other option but to say some white lies.
I think it's okay.
And this is not the first time nor it will be the last.
I'm not saying this as a parenting hack. But as a whole, I think white lies exist in all of us. And it's always better than true lies; those hurt most.
But yes, lies are lies. And you never can ensure that it will not hurt anyone. No matter how you try, when someone finds about your lies, it will hurt them even they know the reason why you choose so.
In that case, there's no other option but we need to prioritize our own necessity. There's nothing wrong if you do prioritize yourself.
But it's always better if you can stay with the truth. The relief is greater than anything. And if you are religious then there's no better option than telling the truth. I know in real life, that path is hard.

Lies are lies there can be no other opinion, at least for me.
Sometimes we feel prone to tell lies just to make the situation comfortable but I don't think it is of much use as at the end you get the same result you wanted to avoid.
Yes, I am in favor of not speaking the truth always but I won't favor telling a lie
