Dawn of January 2011, the seventh-grade annual exam just ended some days back. And today, you are eagerly waiting for the result because it will decide whether you get transferred to another school. You are worried because you could not write well on the exams. Only now do I know how much effort you should have put into your studies at that time. But I don't blame you, because time changes and no one knows the future. But if I knew what I should have done, what I know now, much could have changed, or at least that's the way most of us thinks, don't they! It is natural that as time goes on we realize the importance of that time we lavishly spent away at the expense of many things, and only then we understand that it is too late.
You will get your results on January 13. It was very important for you because through this, you will get the opportunity to get admitted to another good school. This was one of your wishes, desires then. But remember, whatever the outcome is, it doesn't matter if you were able to be in a reputed school or not.
The fact is that even now, 10 years later, you in me, will still be able to hold on to those memories of that time, how far you have come. Of course, you will face a lot of things, but you will not stop, and that is what matters. You were a cute little girl, and yes still you are as much. But much time has flown away. And in between, You will learn to acknowledge a dire situation accordingly, you will learn how harsh reality can be, you will be disappointed, and yet you will go so far without deviating from your goal. Now that I think about it, I am grateful to you. You or me, or we both have and will learn that small victories lead to significant accomplishments. If you think you don't know it! Then memorize it by heart right now! Never forget it. No matter how small the victory, enjoy it with grace.
I have made many mistakes in the past, which you will take part in in the near future as everyone does, but you can't erase them. You can only learn from them.
You must learn to enjoy every moment of life, and everything it has to offer. You have to be in peace at every difficult moment of your life. You may not realize it now, but as time goes on things will get only harder. Yet the time will pass, it will not stop. No matter how hard you try, time will flow away like the way streams in a river flows.
You will regret many things. That if these things were done like this and that, maybe it would be or wouldn't be like this and that. But I'm telling you, it's not blasphemous to regret, but never compromise. Only think about the present, because to understand our reality, we have to struggle with the past in one way or another, so why bother! No one can hide from the past, from it, what we can do is only learn. So enjoy it while it lasts, as we will not live forever, and eternity is boring.
