Season Hunt Challenge - The Light Of The Season

in Feel Good2 years ago

Hello all you Season Hunters! This is week 11 of the Season Hunt Challenge hosted by @barbara-orenya. For those who are hearing about this for the first time, read up about this Challenge here and join us in this most enjoyable hunt. Invite your friends too.

This week we are hunting for:

CANDLES and LIGHTS

I am so happy about our hunt objects this week. Candles and Lights are practically all over our place, especially with all the Christmas decorations and display still up in the house. It's always like this with us every year. Taking down the holiday decorations becomes a sad farewell to a wonderful season that just passed but would like to extend for another day. Or another week. Or another month. Usually, February is the time that our tree finally goes back to the box.

Meanwhile, here are some photos of our Nativity Scene, the reason for the season.

Photos below show a glass candle holder with the Nativity Scene painted all around it. The light inside is from a tea light candle.

The lights you see inside the bottles are battery operated miniature Christmas lights which come in different colors. One of the bottles, the one on the right in the photo above, is actually a plastic soda bottle which my wife recycled instead of throwing it away.

In ending, I would like to share a couple of quotes which I find quite fitting for this week's hunt:

“How far that little candle throws his beams, So shines a good deed in a weary world.” - William Shakespeare

“Everybody is a candle, true. But not everybody is lit.” - Harbhajan Singh

Let us all be the light that shows the way in darkness and the helping hand that lifts the weary. Go forth and shine brightly!

It is sad when all the decorations are put away, @gems.and.cookies. But Valentine’s Day , St. Patrick’s Day and Easter are not too far away.

The custom here is the Christmas tree and decorations are taken down after New Year but I like the idea to leave them up longer.

Love the nativity scene. Your wife is inventive with the little lights in the bottle…really pretty.

Nice quotes.

Have a wonderful rest of the week, my friend. 🤗

Hi @redheadpei. Taking down the decorations feels so much like saying goodbye to an awfully good summer vacation just before school begins. But you're quite right. Valentines Day and Easter are just around the corner. We don't celebrate St. Patrick's day over here though my brother was named after him, being born on March 16. And guess what? This same brother now lives in Ireland with his wife and kids 😀

The tree is still up and is still lit every night. We'll see if we can make it last till March but am afraid if we do, we might not take it down anymore for the rest of the year 😂😂

Yes, those lights in the bottle look really good. Those lights were used last year to light up miniature Christmas trees my wife bought. She decided not to display the small trees this year and instead used bottles.

Thanks for visiting. Happy you liked the quotes. Wishing you the same wonderful week and weekend ahead 🤗

Wonderful lights that diffuse their magic and softness my friend ! 😊

Thanks for the kind appreciation. Keep safe my friend 🥰
