My wife, @stinawog, is editing her novel. To help her have a clearly delineated work time, she took a couple days away from home and our delightful but distracting 3-year-old.
So I've been home with the kiddo (and two cats and a dog) without her. Neither of us had ever been away from the rest of the family so long since @loch was born.
Our routines returned to something like what they were when he was a baby. I get up with him around 5, we briefly snack, then we walk the dog as the sun comes up to the playground and spend a few hours there.
Back home, we play with the kinetic sand construction site, which to daddy is pretty gross because it's picked up hair and dust, but to kiddo is just like outdoors indoors.
After lunch is naptime, when daddy gets to worry about bots and play magic.
Afternoons, we go to the library parking lot and climb on trees and play in the dirt. Then it's back home for some TV watching as the kid gets tireder and tireder until it's finally bath time.
It's been a good couple days, but I'm glad she's home.
