My son spent 4 months in Orenburg recently, was actually stuck there for an extra month with no flights available during strict lockdowns, he really enjoyed the time there and stayed with a very kind young Russian couple for the last period. He had a flight stopover in St Petersburg but no time to do sightseeing, then ended up 2 nights in Moscow with flight delays on the way back home. Stay well @qwerrie!
i am from Moscow (the capital) but left it more than 15yrs for St.Petersburg, it is the north-west part, near the Baltic sea and Finland
