Kończą się wakacje, więc naszło na wspominki. Oto zaległy post podsumowujący nasze pierwsze greckie wakacje, spędzone w trójkę z dzieckiem na uroczej wyspie Samos.
The holidays are ending, so it's time for some memories. Here is an overdue post summarizing our first Greek vacation spent with a child on the lovely island of Samos.
Hotel
Wybraliśmy hotel Hydrele, położony bardzo blisko lotniska na Samos, w odległości spaceru od miejscowości Pitagorio. Lotnisko w niczym nie przeszkadzało, ot, kilka razy dziennie było słychać samolot. Odległość zaś była na tyle bliska, że spokojnie mogliśmy sobie odpuścić transfer z lotniska, za który biuro podróży życzyło sobie chyba 120 zł za osobę (!). To znaczy, myśmy wzięli ten transfer, bo nie wiedzieliśmy jak to wygląda na żywo, ale spokojnie dalibyśmy radę przejść ten kawałek nawet z walizkami i z dzieckiem w wózku.
We chose the Hydrele Hotel, located very close to the Samos airport and within walking distance of the village of Pythagorio. The airport didn't bother you at all, you could hear the plane several times a day. The distance was so close that we could easily skip the airport transfer, for which the travel agency wanted PLN 120 per person (!). I mean, we took this transfer because we didn't know what it looked like there, but we could easily walk this part even with suitcases and a baby in a pram.

Basen hotelowy zaś jest całkiem niczego sobie, jest tu dość spory basen o stopniowo zwiększającej się głębokości oraz mały basen dla dzieci. Standard. Przy basenie jest bar z przekąskami i napojami.
The hotel swimming pool is quite nice, there is a quite large swimming pool with gradually increasing depth and a small pool for children. Standard. There is a bar with snacks and drinks by the pool.
W maju pogoda była przepiękna, upał, ale taki przyjemny. Woda w basenie i w morzu była natomiast lodowato zimna i nawet ja wyskakiwałam z niej po krótkiej chwili. Bomblowi oczywiście temperatura nie przeszkadzała w niczym.
In May, the weather was beautiful, hot, but so pleasant. The water in the pool and in the sea was icy cold, and even I was jumping out of it after a short while. Of course, the temperature did not bother Baby.
Hotel położony jest dość specyficznie, bo część mieszkalna i basenowa jest po jednej stronie ulicy, a restauracja i plaża - po drugiej. Aczkolwiek ulica jest bardzo wąska i mało ruchliwa, nam w niczym to nie przeszkadzało - Bombel był w owym czasie jeszcze dzieckiem niewybiegającym na ulicę.
The hotel is situated in a specific way, because the residential and swimming pool areas are on one side of the street, and the restaurant and the beach are on the other. Although the street is very narrow and not very busy, and it did not bother us in any way - at that time, the Baby was still a child who did not run out into the street.

The view from the window of the hotel restaurant captivated even the youngest during the morning oatmeal.
Opcja all inclusive była tutaj całkiem fajna. Tu i ówdzie były kokotki z napojami, co ograniczało kolejki do baru. Jedzenie urozmaicone i przepyszne. O deserach greckich nie wspominając, ambrozja!
The all inclusive option was pretty cool here. There were cocoons with drinks here and there, reducing lines at the bar. The food is varied and delicious. Not to mention Greek desserts, ambrosia!
Spacer na wschód
Nasz wyjazd potraktowaliśmy spacerowo. Nie dotknęliśmy auta, za to zwiedziliśmy całą okolicę w zasięgu piechoty.
Zwykle po wyjściu z hotelu kierowaliśmy się w lewo, aby idąc wzdłuż wybrzeża w kierunku wschodnim dotrzeć do miasteczka Pitagorio. Ale i sama droga sprawiała nam niemało przyjemności.
We treated our trip as a walker. We didn't touch the car, but we visited the whole area within infantry reach.
Usually, after leaving the hotel, we turned left to go eastwards along the coast to the town of Pythagorio. But the road itself gave us a lot of pleasure.
Po drodze można spotkać bardzo wiele greckich zabytków. Zdecydowana większość jest ogólnie dostępna, można podejść i obejrzeć, jeśli kogoś interesuje przysłowiowa "kamieni kupa".
Along the way, you can meet a lot of Greek monuments. The vast majority of them are generally available, you can approach and watch if you are interested in the proverbial "pile of stones".
Zdumiało mnie trochę, że w tak suchym i gorącym terenie żyją dobrze nam znane dziki. Ciekawe, jak im się tu podoba. Pewnie potrafią sobie znaleźć jakieś małe bagienko.
I was a bit surprised that in such a dry and hot area there live wild boars that we know well. I wonder how they like it here. They can probably find a little swamp.
Pitagorio
Dochodzimy do miasteczka Pitagorasa. Strome uliczki, knajpy, port i sklepiki z rękodziełami. Aż miło pochodzić i zgubić się w tej plątaninie.
We come to the town of Pythagoras. Steep streets, pubs, harbor and handicraft shops. It's nice to come and get lost in this tangle.
Chodniki to płyty kamienne otoczone białą farbą. Nie jest to dzieło przypadku, oczywiście, a celowy zabieg, o który trzeba dbać i powtarzać. Tak, przyłapaliśmy pewnego pana na odmalowywaniu tego chodniczka.
The sidewalks are stone slabs surrounded by white paint. This is not a coincidence, of course, but a deliberate procedure that needs to be cared for and repeated. Yes, we caught a gentleman repainting this sidewalk.
Port Pitagorio zachęca do tego, aby usiąść i odpocząć, zanim pójdzie się dalej.
The port of Pythagorio encourages you to sit back and relax before going any further.
A jest co oglądać. Każda uliczka, każdy domek, ma swój urok.
And there is something to watch. Each street, each house has its own charm.
Jest i Pitagoras, a nawet dwa.
There is Pythagoras, and even two of them.
Na wzniesieniu znajduje się Kościół Przemienienia Pańskiego Chrystusa Zbawiciela w zamku Lycourgos Logothetes.
On the hill there is the Church of the Transfiguration of Christ the Savior in the Castle of Lycourgos Logothetes.
Dla miłośników dalszego zwiedzania są też schody, ale niestety nie udało nam się trafić na żaden ciekawy punkt widokowy u góry.
For lovers of further exploration, there are also stairs, but unfortunately we did not manage to find any interesting vantage point at the top.
Spacer na zachód
Oczywiście trzeba było też zerknąć co słychać na drugiej stronę. Spacer w stronę zachodnią to dzicz, pustka i piękne widoki.
Of course, you also had to see what's going on on the other side. A walk to the west is a wilderness, emptiness and beautiful views.
Idziemy taką ścieżką rowerowo-pieszą. Nieliczne auta, które chciały zmierzać w tym samym kierunku, musiały jechać po kamienistej plaży.
We follow such a bicycle and pedestrian path. The few cars that wanted to go in the same direction had to go along a pebble beach.
Jest mały domek letniskowy, są też ruinki.
There is a small cottage, there are also some ruins.
Jest też maleńki kościół.
There is also a tiny church.
Znajdzie się też wiejskie gospodarstwo.
You can also find a rural farm.
No i wracamy.
Here we go back.
Piękna okolica. Kto wie, może kiedyś wrócimy na Samos (myślę, że do tego samego pysznego hotelu) i zwiedzimy większy kawałek tej wyspy?
Beautiful surroundings. Who knows, maybe someday we will return to Samos (I think the same delicious hotel) and explore a bigger piece of this island?
