Last weekend I had the opportunity to get acquainted with the city, which so far I have mainly associated with the literary works of Joanna Bator. Joanna! This disgusting Wałbrzych not only is not disgusting, but can even be an extremely charming city!

Yes, we did drive through a bit gloomier surroundings, but the overall impression was quite positive. Until we visited Śródmieście - a walk here is pure pleasure.

Budynek Poczty Polskiej

We came to the square that we originally recognized as the market square. What a surprise, the market square it is not! Instead, it is the Municipality Square, surrounded by the building of the Prosecutor's Office and the City Office.

Poszliśmy dalej, no bo chwila moment, gdzieś tu przecież musi być Rynek.

We went on, because wait a minute, there must be the Market Square somewhere.

Jest i on - Rynek w Wałbrzychu.
Brakuje kafejek, restauracji, ludzi. Niestety.

There it is- the Market Square in Wałbrzych. Nice, colorful tenement houses. In the background, the soaring church tower, which we hunted a bit later to take a good photo with the mountain in the background (we couldn't find the right point, unfortunately).
The downside of this market is the complete lack of... life. There is some kebab. There's a second hand, a library, and maybe a bank. There are no cafes, restaurants or people. Pity.

Rynek

If you think that two squares in close proximity to the city center is not enough, Wałbrzych has the third one - Church Square.

There is also a fragment of the Soarly. It blinks to us here and there, but unfortunately, after climbing a nice hill, other buildings completely blocked our view. We didn't manage to get it all from the right height, which is a pity, because those cloudy mountains in the background would be wonderful in such a shot.

Gdy w końcu udało się zrobić zdjęcie całej wieży, to niestety byłam zbyt nisko, aby złapać też te góry.

When I finally managed to take a picture of the entire tower, unfortunately I was too low to catch these mountains.

A dokładnie o takie tło mi chodziło:

And this is exactly the background I meant:
