For several years I have been fascinated by Patagonia, it seems to me a wonderful place to live and explore, it is one of the few places left in the country where there is much to investigate and discover.
I always found it to be something beautiful to vacation and develop one of my favorite hobbies: fishing. But for some time now, the possibility of moving there to spend our years of retirement in that privileged place in the world has been haunting my head and also in my wife's.
A few days ago my daughter asked me to investigate lots for sale in the Esquel and Trevelin area because they are also thinking about a change in their lifestyle and Patagonia is a place that attracts them, perhaps so much listen to me talk about its benefits.
So I started to do some research and I already contacted several real estate agencies in the area and I am putting together a map of the possibilities, of course, there are for all tastes and budgets, there are new ventures and others already established, there are places more attractive than others and the alternatives multiply. The first thing is to know well what they want to do because based on those expectations you can choose better. Carrying out a temporary rental cabin venture is one of the options that is thinking the most, then the location and views, as well as the proximity to one of the many places of tourist attraction, are essential.
When I was a little more than 15 days ago we stopped for a short time in a place that I have already spoken about, Pucón Pai, a complex belonging to the municipal employees of Esquel where the proximity to Lake Futalaufquen and the extensive wooded park that they possess It gives an important advantage over other places of tourist accommodation, of course, the rooms are not the best, just enough to rest at night and not much else. There are people who settle for that but there is also a demanding public who wants quality and good services.
From the preliminary study and although there is still a long way to go to make a final decision, I have found out that a relocation and settlement project in that area is feasible, it is not as expensive as I had thought and perhaps I can accompany my daughter and her partner in this entrepreneurship, of course, if they decide to take that big step.
For our part, we are determined to leave Buenos Aires in the medium term and Patagonia will be our destination if my children also decide that theirs is much better but if not, we will see each other from time to time.
I leave you a photograph of a complex of cabins located on the banks of the Futaleufú River, which the locals call “Grande”, I was researching and renting a cabin per day in that fantastic environment costs a lot of money, of course, it is summer tourism, but in Esquel, They also have winter tourism due to its proximity to the "La Hoya" sky complex. Everything weighs when making a decision. We'll see all of this unravel in the coming months.
Desde hace varios años tengo fascinación por la Patagonia, me parece un lugar maravilloso para vivir y explorar, es uno de los pocos lugares que quedan en el país donde hay mucho por indagar y descubrir.
Siempre me pareció algo hermoso para vacacionar y desarrollar uno de mis pasatiempos predilectos: la pesca. Pero desde hace algún tiempo está rondando en mi cabeza y también en la de mi esposa la posibilidad de mudarnos allí para pasar nuestros años de retiro en ese lugar privilegiado del mundo.
Hace pocos días mi hija me pidió que investigara sobre lotes a la venta en la zona de Esquel y Trevelin, debido a que ellos también están pensando en un cambio en su estilo de vida y la Patagonia es un lugar que les atrae, quizás de tanto escucharme a mi hablar de sus bondades.
Así que me puse a investigar un poco y ya contacté a varias inmobiliarias de la zona y estoy armando un mapa de las posibilidades, por supuesto hay para todos los gustos y presupuestos, hay emprendimientos nuevos y otros ya afianzados, hay lugares más atractivos que otros y las alternativas se multiplican. Lo primero es saber bien que es lo que quieren hacer porque en base a esas expectativas se puede elegir mejor. Realizar un emprendimiento de cabañas de alquiler temporal es una opción de las que más está pensando entonces la ubicación y las vistas, tanto como la cercanía con alguno de los tantos lugares de atracción turística, son fundamentales.
Cuando estuve hace poco más de 15 días paramos por un corto lapso de tiempo en un lugar del que ya he hablado, Pucón Pai, un complejo perteneciente a los empleados municipales de Esquel donde la cercanía al lago Futalaufquen y el extenso parque arbolado que poseen les da una ventaja importante respecto a otros lugares de alojamiento turístico, por supuesto las habitaciones no son lo mejor, apenas lo necesario para descansar por la noche y no mucho más. Hay gente que se conforma con eso pero también hay un público exigente que quiere calidad y buenos servicios.
Del estudio preliminar y aunque todavía falta mucho para tomar una decisión final, he sacado en limpio que un proyecto de traslado y afincamiento en esa zona es factible, no es tan caro como había pensado y quizás pueda acompañar a mi hija y su pareja en este emprendimiento, por supuesto si ellos se deciden a tomar ese gran paso.
Por nuestra parte estamos decididos a irnos de Buenos Aires en el mediano plazo y la Patagonia será nuestro destino, si mis hijos decidieran también que es el suyo mucho mejor pero si no es así, nos veremos cada tanto.
Les dejo una fotografía de un complejo de cabañas ubicadas a orillas del río Futaleufú al que los lugareños llaman “Grande”, estuve investigando y alquilar una cabaña por día en ese entorno fantástico cuesta mucho dinero, por supuesto es turismo de verano, pero en Esquel también tienen un turismo invernal por su cercanía con el complejo de sky “La Hoya”. Todo pesa a la hora de tomar una decisión. Veremos cómo se desentraña todo esto en los próximos meses.
