Like many other elements that humans have used daily since ancient times, it is not known exactly when it was created, if it is known that it has been used for more than 4,000 years.
In all this time it has gone through various processes of improvement and improvements, in our time we enjoy a great variety of presentations and conformations of the compound that basically serves to clean our body and our clothes.
There are scented neutral, glycerin, antibacterial. Their shapes and colors also change to meet the tastes and demands of consumers.
A few days ago at an artisan fair that runs on weekends in a square near my house, we bought some that come in pills, as if they were a remedy for migraine. We were surprised by the novelty and we decided to buy a couple of tubes of those that are used for chemical tests, filled with the nice colored tablets, we gave one to each of our children. The vendor and manufacturer kindly gave us an envelope containing two pills to test ourselves.
This form of presentation reminded me of another that is no longer seen so frequently but that many years ago was in common use, especially for those who traveled frequently and are always dealing with the size and weight of their luggage, I mean to soap on sheets of paper.
I remembered that in one of the many books that I have scattered throughout my house, there was a crushed and discolored container of those soaps over time, surely I used it as a bookmark at some point for lack of something better; I couldn't remember what book it was in and I gave up looking for it, I wasn't sure I would find it and it would take too long. It is going to emerge, as so many things do that you look for when you need them and they do not appear, but then, when they are no longer important, the goblin of inanimate things plays with us once more and puts them in front of our noses. Surely the mischievous character watches us from some hiding place and laughs out loud at our face of disbelief when he suddenly sees something that we are looking for and could not find suddenly emerge.
But we have the Internet and there I was able to find an old photograph of the envelope that contained that soap soaked in sheets of very thin paper, which when put under the stream of water and rubbed on our hands, the soap foam appeared at the same time as the paper was undone without leaving traces.
I also found that this format is still manufactured, of course, now they come with a presentation according to the times, a plastic dispenser where you can extract sheet by sheet quickly and efficiently without the danger of wetting the next one and ruining it as happened regularly with the old presentation.
I have not yet tried the soap tablets in tablets, I hope to do it before the goblin hides them from me.
Como muchos otros elementos que el ser humano utiliza a diario desde la antigüedad, no se conoce con exactitud cuándo fue creado, si se sabe que se utiliza desde hace más de 4,000 años.
En todo este tiempo ha pasado por diversos procesos de perfeccionamiento y mejoras, en nuestra época disfrutamos de una gran variedad de presentaciones y conformaciones del compuesto que sirve básicamente para limpiar nuestro cuerpo y nuestra ropa.
Los hay perfumados, neutros, de glicerina, antibacteriales. Sus formas y colores también cambian para satisfacer los gustos y demanda de los consumidores.
Hace pocos días en una feria de artesanos que funciona los fines de semana en una plaza cercana a mi casa compramos unos que vienen en pastillas, como si fueran un remedio para la jaqueca. Nos sorprendió la novedad y decidimos adquirir un par de tubos de esos que se utilizan para ensayos químicos, llenos de las simpáticas tabletas de colores, les regalamos uno a cada uno de nuestros hijos. Amablemente el vendedor y fabricante nos obsequió un sobre conteniendo dos pastillas para probarlos nosotros también.
Esta forma de presentación me hizo recordar a otra que ya no se ve con tanta asiduidad pero que hace muchos años era de uso común, sobre todo para aquellos que viajaban con frecuencia y siempre están lidiando con el tamaño y peso de su equipaje, me refiero al jabón en hojas de papel.
Recordé que en un libro de los tantos que tengo desparramados por toda mi casa, había un envase aplastado y descolorido por el paso del tiempo de esos jabones, seguramente lo utilicé como marcador de páginas en algún momento a falta de otra cosa mejor; no pude recordar en que libro estaba y desistí de buscarlo, no tenía la certeza de encontrarlo y además demoraría demasiado tiempo. Ya va a emerger, como lo hacen tantas cosas que uno busca cuando las necesita y no aparecen, pero luego, cuando ya no son importantes, el duende de las cosas inanimadas juega una vez más con nosotros y las pone frente a nuestras narices. Seguramente el pícaro personaje nos observa desde algún escondite y se ríe a carcajadas de nuestra cara de incredulidad al ver surgir de repente algo que buscamos con ahínco y no pudimos encontrar.
Pero tenemos Internet y allí pude encontrar una fotografía vieja del sobre que contenía ese jabón embebido en hojas de un papel muy fino, que al ponerlo bajo el chorro de agua y frotar sobre nuestras manos aparecía la espuma del jabón al mismo tiempo que el papel se deshacía sin dejar rastros.
También encontré que aún se fabrica ese formato, por supuesto ahora vienen con una presentación acorde a los tiempos, un dispenser de plástico donde se puede extraer hoja por hoja de manera rápida y eficaz sin el peligro de mojar la siguiente y arruinarla como acontecía regularmente con la antigua presentación.
Todavía no he probado las pastillas de jabón en comprimidos, espero hacerlo antes que el duende me las esconda.
