They are the abbreviations of Vehicle Technical Verification and it is a mandatory annual review of the state of vehicles located here in the capital of my country, as it is in the federal district it is in charge of the city government. I understand that there is something similar in some other provinces of the country although not in all.
It is a fairly complete overhaul of the vehicles and it is mandatory to do it from the third year in circulation. Although it is an inconvenience to have to take it and wait inside the passage for each machine and sensor of a long assembly-type line, it is also true that the technicians and those in charge of verifying are friendly and well prepared.
Once put in the first station, the complete circuit does not take more than 15 minutes and the review includes tires, lights, alignment, damping, brakes, seat belts, and inside the vehicle the existence of a current fire extinguisher, reflective beacons, and first aid kit aid.
At the end and if everything is in order, a sticker is pasted on the front windshield and a document is delivered detailing the status of each component with a measured percentage and the minimum established to be considered normal, something very similar to the result of a blood test for example.
In addition, this works as additional security since it ensures that our vehicle is in driving condition but we also have the peace of mind that of others as well. Accidents are often preventable and in addition to respecting traffic regulations and caution, we are certain that our vehicle will be able to better cope with a dangerous situation by being in good technical condition.
Luckily everything was fine in my car, for this the day before I changed a burned out position lamp and replaced the extinguisher with a new one.
This year the review was delayed due to the pandemic since due to the termination of my patent it was my responsibility to carry it out in May, the bad news was that from now on it was normalized and within 4 months I will have to verify it again. Rules are rules.
Son las siglas de Verificación Técnica Vehicular y es una revisión anual obligatoria del estado de los vehículos radicados aquí en la capital de mi país, al ser del distrito federal está a cargo del gobierno de la ciudad. Tengo entendido que hay algo parecido en algunas otras provincias del país aunque no en todas.
Es una revisión bastante completa de los vehículos y es obligatorio hacerlo a partir del tercer año en circulación. Si bien es una incomodidad tener que llevarlo y esperar dentro del mismo el pasaje por cada máquina y censor de una larga línea tipo montaje, también es cierto que los técnicos y encargados de verificar son amables y bien preparados.
Una vez puesto en la primera estación el circuito completo no lleva más de 15 minutos y la revisión incluye: neumáticos, luces, alineación, amortiguación, frenos, cinturones de seguridad y dentro del vehículo la existencia de matafuego vigente, balizas reflectivas y botiquín de primeros auxilios.
Al finalizar y si todo está en orden se pega un sticker en el parabrisas delantero y se entrega un documento detallando el estado de cada componente con porcentaje medido y el mínimo establecido para considerarse normal, algo muy parecido al resultado de un análisis de sangre por ejemplo.
Además, esto funciona como una seguridad adicional ya que nos asegura que nuestro vehículo está en condiciones de circular pero también tenemos la tranquilidad que el de los demás también. Los accidentes muchas veces son evitables y además del respeto de las normas de tránsito y la prudencia tenemos la certeza de que nuestro vehículo podrá hacer frente de una mejor manera a una situación de peligro al estar en buenas condiciones técnicas.
Por suerte todo estaba bien en mi automóvil, para ello en el día anterior cambié una lámpara de posición quemada y reemplacé el matafuegos por uno nuevo.
Este año la revisión se retrasó por la pandemia ya que por la terminación de mi patente me correspondía realizarla en mayo, la mala noticia fue que a partir de ahora se normalizó y dentro de 4 meses tendré que volver a verificarlo. Reglas son reglas.
